Well, the time has come to part ways with my 2nd Maserati.
29k miles from new, Sept 2001, Mot'd for one year (Northern Ireland MOT which is a lot tougher than the mainland!)
Originally from Stratstone of Wilmslow.
Partial service history, but seems to have been well maintained with receipts for work done.
In my ownership, it has recently (June) had a new clutch (both pressure and driven plates) and propshaft coupling along with new fluids.
Belts were done in June 2008 at 26k miles.
Black with yellow pin striped interior.
Skyhook suspension and all the standard electrics function correctly.
2 black keys and the red key.
Stunning looking and rare in this colour, I have never had such a head turning vehicle!

Car is in Northern Ireland close to both Belfast Airports for viewing, has a little flaking laquer on the front bumper, and wheels are a little scuffed but is priced accordingly.
Personal plate not included but available at an extra cost.
£14000 ono
Please Pm or email me at Allanh@aol.com if you are interested in this car and require any more info or photos.

Hi I flew to Belfast to view this car, owner didn't accept my offer and didn't even comeback to negotiate with me before selling for £200 more than I bid... there were a few thing not right and no full history, My understanding is it was purchased by a merseysider as a track car...personally think that's a waste. Previous owner is a rally driver now working in UAE.  Apologies didn't keep his details. Colour is fantastic, sounded great, just didn't happen. Shame< not look at one since this experience

Afternoon good Sirs,

I did manage to get in touch with the previous owner, though through no fault of his own, did not manage to get the details for the buyer.

Sabrg45,

I thank you for taking the time to respond; it is one of the reasons why forums seem to get ever popular. Based on what you have said, this Giallo coloured 3200 is probably not the car for me. I also enquired about the amount of Yellow cars on Pistonheads; I have since only found one other car; this also being one that started life as a Track Experience car.

If my quest for a 3200 has taught me anything, it is that it would be ill advised to focus my search on cars that fit my rigid and particular colour/trim requirements. Rather, my search now focuses primarily on the overall condition.

For me, the purchase of a 3200 would be a long term ownership proposition (and make me the youngest 3200 owner?); in fact, I aim to never sell any of my ‘weekend cars’. The 3200 is just one of many cars which I aim to accumulate over time; as a result I require the bodywork, and maintenance record to be in exceptional order.

My searching experience has thrown a few problems at me; mostly concerning the owners of such cars. Let me explain: I hate to paint all the sellers with the same brush, and it is not my intention to do so, but so far it seems everyone is the owner of “the very best 3200” and the car has had “no expense spared”. As a result, owner’s valuations seem to be far too unrealistic; some dealerships seem to price their cars better. Thankfully, I have had some better luck from members on this forum, and for that, I thank them.

Best,

Ram K

Would be interesting to know who the youngest 3200 owner was! I was 27 when I bought my first one, but I'm sure there are younger owners!

I'm looking at a Maserati Spyder (as nigw knows! had abit of a barny but all forgotten!) and I'm only 22. Insurance is £2,200 a year.

Current car is a Boxster S, previously owned an S2000, I feel this is the natural next step! Sod the Germans, I want some italian passion and flare. Nothing else has this much style and panache!

Hi LittleBro,

Yes I did see that car the day it popped up for sale.
I was in fact looking at another 3200 at the time, but it sold before I could put a deposit on it. Real shame as it ticked all the boxes for me.
As for the Giallo car, IMO I do not see any 3200 being worth £16,990 - the car I was about to buy worked out a lot cheaper and had a superb history; everything was as it should have been. I guess the search continues!

Chaps, guess what, the car currently for sale is the same one that is listed above. As said originally there is quite a large service gap.
