No more pictures yet. just an update. Hopefully the car should be IVA tested in the next couple of weeks, and then, fingers crossed get it registered, and go for a blast!!. Weighed the car last week, all in minus fuel came to 680kgs, which is good. The alluminium body didnt add too much. horsepower is around the 210 mark, so not a huge amount, but a good power to weight. The distribution is 50;50 too, so that will help. Once its tested, just a matter of getting it painted, and enjoy. Hope the decent weather holds out, as I dont fancy the wet with cross ply tyres and no roof, ABS, brake servo, heater etc. will post more pictures as and when.

No pics this time, just an update. Been a delay with the project due to getting dates for the IVA test. Had it tested last thursday, and it failed on a couple of things. Fortunately, silly things really. As I dont have a steering lock, I have to have an immobiliser fitted. Why, when the steering wheel is removable and the master switch comes out I dont know. Apart from a couple of plastic nut covers, and an ammendment to the chassis plate location, thats about it. Very pleased with the result. Structure, braking, construction methods, even emmisions all flew through. Re-test is next thursday, which should result in a pass, and then shoot down to DVLA with the paperwork to apply for a V5 and a tax disc. While thats going through the motions, I will remove all the bodywork and get it painted. All being well, by mid to late september, we will have a car to drive!!. A quick thankyou. Steve hart of Steve Hart racing was extremely helpful in identifying the correct colour for the car. I will update again when something happens!!. Thanks again for all the interest.

Thanks for that. I am trying not to get too get too excited, but I must confess I cannot wait to get the old flying helmet and goggles on and take it for a blast. Mind you, with health and safety or the "fun police" as we call them up here, it may end up being a helmet. Whether I stick with the mudguards has yet to be decided.

She passed!!! The car passed the IVA test last thursday, so we are now road legal. Just have to have a quick inspection by the DVLA, and then I will be given a TAX disc and a V5 will be issued. Just a matter of getting the paint on, and subject to the weather, going for a spin.

Sorry Andy I dribbled all over my keypad..........that's one great project, you are probably unable to sleep anticipating that first blast down the road. Hope it all goes well and stay on the black stuff. Somewhere I have a video of Fangio driving a 250 around an airfield cicuit, makes for interesting comparisons with more modern driving techniques. Colour me green with envy.

Due to a cancellation at the DVLA, I had the inspection done today. The car is now road legal. A milestone. Now I can get the panels off, get them painted, and , well, thats it . Finished. Oh, I suppose I ought to take it for a drive. Hope the weather is ok next weekend. I will post pictures as soon as she is re-assembled.

Car is now road legal. Taxed, insured registered, job done. Assembling the bodywork on friday at the paintshop, and weather permitting, will post pictures of the finished article, and go for a spin. should be interesting.
