Information about what?

Encrypted files are useless unless you have the exported key?

Names, addresses, bank details and passwords... they must be encrypted because no-one would be fool enough surely to put all those details without a clever encryption.

It is clever encryption though, as everything looks normal.

Hey V Bird, for some strange reason I've always been able to remember my NI number, so next time I get sloshed and can't remember who I am or where I live, I can just contact you for my name and address! Fantastic, you could offer a great service here!

Oh dear there is one problem, I've never applied for child benefit!

I can't see what all the fuss is about. Assuming the baddies have the discs they will simply raid everyones' accounts, BUT the Government's asset recovery unit will be able to get everything back, and it will all be ok.

OOPS, silly me, I forgot that the asset recovery unit was banished as it didn't work.

OR

Gordon Brown will order the Chancellor to sell some of our gold reserves to compensate everyone.

OOPS, there I go again, I forgot that the previous Chancellor (I think his name was Brown too) sold off our gold reserves.

Never mind, that nice Police Commissionaire will probably have a cunning plan to arrest the vagabonds and tell them off.

Tiffin anyone? (It comes free with a cup of tea when you enrol for biometric screaming)

There is a grotesque irony in the present situation isn't there.

'They' want 'us' on a database and carry a card that will give us all increased security and they drop the ball continually.

I know someone that at the time of the Greenham Protests broke into the base, started one of the main computers and got all the deployment details for the next 3 months, the point being that no matter what system is up someone can take it down.

The worst bit about that is that someone may not be as 'benign' as the person I know, his knowledge of computing is staggering, watching him is like watching a magic show.

Having watched this guy I can assure you that even GCHQ would not be a problem to him, the thing is I am certain he is not alone in having these skills, there must be hundreds if not thousands around the world.

I will burn any ID card sent me and have started using cash again of late, I feel very uneasy at the moment with the way things are going in this once fair land.

My friend related this to me today... shocked me to the core.

Jan 2006 after 31 years of constant work the company he worked for went bust, out of the blue, no warning, so the very day they locked him out of work he starting applying for jobs, whilst he waited for replies and forms he went straight out and got a start the next day at a garage forecourt as a cashier, he didn't like to burden the state so did this just as you and I would do, it was part-time evening work so he could attend any interview, it made good sense.

So no jobs came about for a while, the job was getting a bit of a problem [wife] and he is a smoker, but never smoked at work, however his boss saw him smoking [not in working hours] the other side of town and when he turned up he was sacked on the spot.

He accepted this as he was heading off anyway...with no work he went to claim 'dole'... he was refused and still was until this week when he started work for my company.

31 years 'paying in' never a problem or burden to the state, he is notorious for being in constant rude health [as all his family are] paid a lot in insurance tax and what-not yet the state dumped him without a 'by-your-leave'.

When I see all the work-shy that my Employment Agency that 'apply' for jobs it sends me into a bit of a depression to be honest.

V_Bird

You can have my child benefit (you have to have to have the kids as well mind).  All yours.

Stats007, you don't work for the Government do you, what with being quick off the mark and all that (only Joking ya )

With you all the way V_Bird.  We seem to have become a nation of scavs.  I heard that Alcoholics claim loads of money not to go to work?  I'm sure I drink enough to qualify, oh sod it, where do I sign up.
