I'm "thinking" about selling my very much loved 3200GT as I am going to be working away a lot more in 2010

Although its kept in a safe, dry and heated inviroment these cars still need to be used to keep them running properly

I have just uploaded a few pics in the Photo Gallery. If there are any newbies browing and seriously looking for a very well cared for 2001 model 3200GT manual no expense spared during service do let me know otherwise she may have to go into storage!!!

Hello,

Foreword:
I have become very attached to my Maserati during my ownership and feel slightly guilty typing away details about her prior to a possible reluctant sale. I am sure there are many other members that feel or have felt the same way about their Maserati too, there’s just something special about them that causes that constant grin.
However, I have decided that I will not be advertising her to a wider audience due to the possibility of her falling into the wrong hands. This is an excellent example of a 3200GT and I searched for many months and many miles before I eventually found the “right one”.
Just for the record… I was put off the 3200’s for a period of time due to frightening reading mainly on this forum about the “dreaded crank end float”  issue but out of the six 3200 I viewed and which I had independent inspections on at the garage at my cost not one had any excess end float that should not have been there!!!
I had followed this forum for quite a while before becoming a “proper” member last year and it seems to attract more of the “enthusiasts” of the marquee, the type of people who in my opinion like myself will care for the cars. If you head for the member forums instead of the auction sites it tends to show in my opinion that you have a little more time and respect for the marquee.

So, due to the money I have spent keeping her in great condition mechanically and aesthetically including the recent £3000 Service (where many parts were replaced due to preventative action at my request) and  the £900 clean and polish I want to ensure that my time and money has not been wasted and the possible new owner will be a genuine enthusiast who will “drive it” but also look after it…

I am in no rush what so ever to sell her and if for any reason (due to the economic climate) she does not sell by the spring then I will probably put her into storage until my work circumstances change.

My Car: 3200GT V8 TWIN TUBRO
Year: 2001 Y Reg (Currently on Private Plate)
Mileage: 53,000
Gearbox: 6 Speed
Tax: May 2010
Mot: November 2010
All Keys: X2 Black, X1 Red and Key Code Card
Colour: Verdi Mistral Metallic
Interior Seats: Leather Piped Medio Grigio
Dashboard: Leather Piped Medio Grigio
Headlining: Grey Alcantara
Additional info: New Maserati Inner Mat Set, Maserati Wiper set and Throttle Body Replaced May 2009
Wheels: Brand New Maserati 10 Spoke Fitted plus a spare set of 15 Spoke originals also included with nuts
Exhaust: Upgraded Stainless Steel Quicksilver System Sports exhaust an awesome sound when pushed - http://www.quicksilverexhausts.com/product_bulletins/Video/Maserati%203200GT/105.htm
Tyres: Dunlop Sports with very little wear
Callipers and Discs: New Maserati Brembo All Round 1000 miles ago
Brake Pads and Shoes: New 1000 miles ago
Auxiliary and Timing Belts and Pulleys: All replaced in last service
Service History: Full Maserati and latest Emblem
Suspension System: Skyhook Adjustable
Bodywork: Excellent Order Highly Waxed (No rust bubbles or pitting on wheel arches rear wings etc as can sometimes occur)
Engine Report: Showed Crank well within Tolerance (probably due to the engine ony ever being lubricated with Selenia 10/60)
Battery Condition: Excellent due to battery maintenance through Trickle Charger (included)
Storage: Stored in a heated Garage with Genuine Maserati Cover (included)

The car is best suited to any existing members who wish to return to the unpredictable power of the twin turbo’s and know what they are looking for or any newbie’s who are now in a position to own a Maserati. This car has showed a CEL once but disappeared instantly when the throttle body was replaced May 09

The car is used four times per week part motorway and (a) roads but is washed and properly dried by hand every time it is put away - hard work but it can be done…
I am looking for £15700 which I feel is very realistic due to its overall condition and extras ( 15 spokes, Trickle Charger, Genuine Car Cover) and unfortunately the price is not open for any wider silly debate. If the price is above your budget for a fantastic condition and quality cared for Maserati 3200 then best look on ebay

If I've missed anything just ask and I will reply asap...

For existing members your feedback is always appreciated

Sounds like a great car!

I thought the 10-spoke were original and only the AC had 15-spoke? Could be wrong... I prefer the 10-spoke anyway!

Hello Peter,
Yes I have uploaded photos into the Photo Gallery at the top of this page. You will need to log in first though. The pictures are under 3200GT South Wales.

Hello Buffalox,
I think the 10 spoke were the standard wheels and the 15 spoke were an extra cost option from new. I am sure that the adjustable skyhook suspension was also an extra as simular cars have non adjustable shocks fitted as standard but I may be wrong. I was describing the 15 spoke as original because they were the wheels that were fitted from new but I agree that the 10 spoke look neater plus their easier to clean!!!

Here's a preview of the pics inside the Gallery (hope this works)

Good Evening All,

Thanks for the compliments, I will pass them onto the lady herself.

It's surprising, if you treat them well (even talk to them now and again) like a good women they will look after you and spending a little on them too now and again helps also as they will return the kindness in the Best Ride of your Life!!!

In the last week I have had a overwhelming response, but the first forum member to view her has agreed to provisionally buy her on his return from holiday so thanks to anybody else who has shown an interest. I will update the progress of the sale in due course

This was the advert which Mark bought the car from. He has maintained her regardless of cost, and with a lower asking price.
