This is a curious blend. It looks like it is a facelift model (GSish front and back bumpers) but I didn't realise that the facelift came as early as an 04. Plus I thought the facelift included the 7 spoke wheels as standard, so whether I am wrong or these wheels were ordered as an option I am not sure.

Xenon not mentioned in spec but looks like fitted as washers are present. That said, the washer cover is missing which always makes me a tad uneasy as a truly fussy owner would address that?

It has the slatted grill - not for me IMHO - the mesh is much nicer (but I would say that as I have the mesh).

Great colour como (I would say that as well, of course).

Finally, dealer car of course but would expect a private car to come in at least £3k less at that mileage.

PS Are Alfa Sport a known Maser specialist?

My suspicion is that face lift bumpers have been fitted.  Plus I agree about the washer jets not being present - I would expect the previous owner and at least the trader to put these back on rather than expect the new buyer to live with this degree of cosmetic disfigurement.

Seeing as we are being particular chaps  - is the cup holder a MY 2005 spec item, or was it fitted on 2004 cars first?

If it is a non facelift car, and sorry to be negative, any potential purchaser should make sure the bumpers have not been changed due to the car being involved in a stack. The amount of Porsche 911 slant nose conversions from the 80's weren't just done for the looks

Looks good on the surface though. Pretty car.

Best,

Charles

ps. Think the car will look well with some silver GS alloys fitted.

Agree, it looks like a faclift model, front and back are right, cupholder right, wheels were 7 spoke as standard but certainly the wheels as are were available, rear quarter motifs right, lower side badges optional, but standard on the Spyder, navtrak standard, the other thing which we cannot see which would suggest it is a facelift rather than a damaged rebuild is the question of are the speedo and rev counter blue? The facelift model was built from september 2004 so should be 54 plate, in which case it is correct and very very reasonably priced, subject to the normal prepurchase checks by a dealer/indie, bearing in mind that it will under the sale of goods act from a dealer carry a minimum 6 month warranty!

Yep, cup holder means it must almost certainly be a very early facelift - forgot to look for that when last posting.

A little wear on the driver's seat squab but that is totally normal for that mileage and I have seen a lot worse condition at lower mileage, which would support any well looked after claims.

Interesting. So, we are getting closer then

To quote Stephen/Trident, "the other thing which we cannot see which would suggest it is a facelift rather than a damaged rebuild is the question of are the speedo and rev counter blue?" To quote Smarties, "the Speedo has the answer".  If the speedo  on the car is blue, we likely have a 'on paper' a cracking value facelift car. Maybe they don't even know it is a facelift because of the red herring/wheels? If so, somebody should get a thorough inspection on it, and if it checks out, then happy days....

Alfa-Sport are not a Maser specialist as far as I am aware????? Unless anyone knows different? Any prospective purchaser should give them a quick call, and make sure they just did minor works like an annual,as opposed to any major stuff, like clutch change etc which requires Maserati diagnostic equipment to get perfect.

Charles

Still looking for my first Maser, this did interest me although i intend to buy next year. Got a friend here who is also looking for his second Maser to check on this for me.

Service History:

06/10/2005        2,443 miles    Graypaul Maserati Nottingham
22/09/2006        4,014 miles    Meridian Modena
24/07/2007      12,550 miles    Meridian Modena
21/05/2008      19,342 miles    Meridian Modena
02/06/2009      26,803 miles    Alfa-Sport Ltd Cambridge
09/06/2010      35,457 miles    Alfa-Sport Ltd Cambridge

The dealer assures that it has not been in an accident. The previous owner had the jet washer covers stolen from the same car park twice(interesting one). Now the car has new washer covers painted and installed.

Does look good and a fine colour combination too.

It certainly, if up to scratch, which although the dealer is offering 3 months warranty, has to, by law cover it for 6 months, still needs an indie or main dealer checkover, to ensure all OK including clutch wear, is an amazing bargain! Suggest you rethink your timing if possible!

The service history isn't complete, I note. Last service in June 2010, which means it missed it's annual service in June 2011. That's just put me off enquiring about the car.
