Status: offline 		I know the 4200 engine is a Ferrari developed unit.  However, I'm interested to know if it's developed from any specific, pre-existsing Ferrari engines, or was it a completely new development.  My google-fu is weak as I can't find anything to suggest either way.

No real reason to ask, other than out of pure interest.
