Hi Guys,

As new sponsors to the forum I thought I’d come on and introduce myself and give you an insight in to what I get up to as a professional detailer.

First a bit about myself - I started in the valeting industry about 12 years ago, working on everyday cars such as metro’s, escorts etc, working both with private customers and dealerships, not wanting to just turn up with a bucket and sponge I wanted to do the job as best as possible, so I attended the 3 day Autoglym training course to learn some skills.

Before long I moved out of the dealership prep /private work into motorshow preparation, working with an agency that supplied valeters to the motoring manufacturers at various motorshows around Europe. Over the following few years I had the privilege to work at some of the industries major events and launches including the Bologna motorshow for the launch of the new mini and finally at the prestigious Geneva motorshow covering the launch of the Vanquish for Aston Martin.

It was at Geneva where I was approached by the management at Aston Martin to work directly with them back in the UK, covering their dealership training and customer ride and drive events at Millbrook proving ground and their old factories in Bloxham and Newport Pagnell. This I did for about 7 years.

From back when I first started, I’ve always been on the look out for new products/techniques to enable me to achieve a better standard of finish to our customers cars and in 2000 I worked along side what was to become one of the worlds leading car care brands, helping them establish a formidable reputation for quality products in the UK, in fact I was the first professional detailer in the UK to start using the £8000 carnauba wax that has gone on to be the most coveted wax in our industry, I was also the first detailer to be written about in Evo magazine, having detailed Simon Georges Lamborghini’s, something that I am very proud of.

In January 2007, not wanting to be tied to one particular brand I took the decision to work on a totally independent basis, freeing me up to continue trying out new products and techniques, integrating them into our paint correction and protection process to insure that we constantly achieve the best possible finish for the cars we work on. This also means that any advice I can give is totally impartial.

Over the last 5 years as detailing became more popular and as my client base grew , I moved away from the motorshow side to our industry to focus more on working directly with my private customers, preparing and maintaining their cars over the long term This has enabled me to work on some of the worlds most luxurious and exotic cars and to build up a client base of more private Ferrari owners than any other detailers here in the UK.

Over the years I have also detailed cars for most of the major Ferrari/Maserati dealerships including Graypaul, Carrs of Exeter, Maranello and lancaster Sevenoaks. Sportscar protection are the official detailers for Supercarhub, Petrolhead Nirvana and Paintshield. I have also been the resident detailing expert on Club Scuderia since it’s outset, detailing the members cars and offering advice and guidance to all those who choose to maintain their own cars.

The services I offer include, Professional detailing for paint correction and protection, leather restoration and alloy wheel refurbishing , if anyone has any questions about our services or if you are just after a bit of advice , feel free to give me a call on 07970 713062 or post your questions in the detailing section and I will be more than happy to help.

Finally, if you want to see a few more examples of my work, grab yourself a brew or a beer and take a look through my gallery at http://www.sportscarprotection.com/gallery/gallery.html

Thanks for reading through and I look forward to working with you.

Dave

You should be able to get about 6-8 in each post, but you will have to shrink them to the right size...I use shrinkpictures off the net

Hi Dave,

Come on mate - we need more gratuitous supercar shots. You have rasied the bar high on Club Scuderia. Actually, it must be a pretty quiet time of the year for you guys what with the weather, but when things pick up, I expect some top quality postings and pictures .

You the man Dave!

Don't forget to click 'embed pictures' every time you upload photos. When you upload photos for the second or third times make sure you double check that.
