How do other members get good resolution on thier Avatar Photos?

When I tried to upload a 'good' photo, it wasn't accepted, so I had to downgrade the resolution.

Hi chaps,

Within the last 12 months we have amended the backend software to allow automatic uploads of any sizes images for your avatar. The backend forum software now resizes/compresses the image automatically, so you do not have to do so before uploading it. This applies to avatar images or when posting images. Upload your 'original' avatar image through your profile page as always and it will now display clearly.

Regards,

Admin
