Hi Ross,

Is the car one owner from new or two?  It says both, twice, in your post, above.

As above, do you have any pics of the car, specifically the interior?

Other questions - does it have the LE spec?  Coloured calipers?  Grey or silver alloys?  Questions, questions, questions....

Best of luck with the sale.

Cheers
Woody

ps - welcome to the forum.  Tis a bit of a shame you've joined only to sell the car, its always good to have owners contributing to the forums.  Best of luck with the sale, all the same.

For those of you who are interested, this car is believed to have been owned by a Director of Maserati UK first.  It has silver wheels with silver callipers.

Cheers
Woody

grrr.....big response gone missing due to f'in internet!  ggrrrrr...

In short, no pics.  Saw it advertised 2 years ago and it looked great.

Its not for me, but if I was interested I'd want to confirm that it hadnt missed its annual last year and had been looked at for milage services too.  Maserati's should be owned by enthusiast but i'm surprised how many are not - one I recently looked into at a specialist, hadnt been serviced in over 2.5 years. Maybe not a problem but will definately raise questions when you come to sell the car, particularly on low milage examples.

I went to see it yesterday.

The car is in terrible condition:
Hasn't been serviced since January 2008!
Has no current MOT
Front bumper damaged and cracked, needs repair and repaint
Rear bumper is scuffed and needs repaint
Rust bubble forming under n/s rear light
Various scratches all over bodywork, especially bad in front of bonnet leading edge
1 rear wheel buckled, needs replacing it's so badly damaged
3 wheels badly kerbed
2 rear tyres damaged beyond repair
all tyres cheap Korean make
n/s front inner arch lining damaged and falling out
1 broken electric window switch
badly scratched carbon fibre centre console
driver's side leather bolster badly worn and other leather damage/scratches inside
front discs need replacing
handbrake doesn't work - needs new shoes and adjustment
1 electric motor on driver's seat doesn't work
car is generally filthy inside and out
car has c.£25k finance outstanding on it
service history stamps suspect - all appear to have been written/stamped at same time
log book incomplete and partially filled in to different owner
no other paperwork present

I estimate around £6k-£7k needs spending on this car to get it anywhere near the standard of other GS on the market. Even then it would still have missed at least 2 services which would impact on future value and could present problems with the car in future as no fluids etc. have been changed. It's such a shame to see a car in probably my perfect spec so badly neglected. The owner clearly has not looked after it and doesn't appear to have spent a penny on it. It allegedly had a new clutch at some point, but there was no paperwork to back up this claim.

Could be worth a punt at £18k

Blimey that sounds awful. It looks a bit rough in the photos. That red Strattons car is looking ever better value.

06 car rusting already? Jeepers creepers, I hope its not something that's inherent to Maseratis. Isn't the GS suppose to be heavily galvanised too?

Thanks for the detailed report by the way.

I never fail to be amased that poeple buy these cars without knowing what they cost to run and then neglect them - ultimately, if you dont service it and look after it, you'll pay for it later.  This sounds near on un-saleable from that description, certainly not at £20-odd-k.

Hi, I note Maf260's comments on the car which I, as a solicitor, consider highly defamatory. I do not have time to rebut every comment at this moment but would like to make the following important observations in the meantime:

1. Hasn't been serviced since January 2008! -  CAR IS FULLY SERVICED. SERVICE ONLY DUE AT 43,500 MILES AS PER SERVICE BOOK.  I.E. NOW. I WILL BE GETTING CAR SERVICED ON MY RETURN FROM HOLIDAY NEXT MONTH.

2. Has no current MOT - MOT RAN OUT FOUR WEEKS AGO. ONLY NOT MOT'D IN PAST FOUR WEEKS AS HAVE BEEN ON HOLIDAY AND ALSO HAD OFFER FOR CAR FROM DEALER WITHOUT MOT WHICH I WAS CONSIDERING.

3. Scratches over body/ bumper minor and minor scuffs/ inside scratches on car......I have had a quote from a recognised maserati specialist for for under £250 - that is how minor they are!! All consistent with the age of the car!

Driver's side leather bolster badly worn and other leather damage/scratches inside - Untrue. any wear is consistent with age of car.

Handbrake doesn't work - needs new shoes and adjustment - Untrue

Car is generally filthy inside and out - completely untrue.

service history stamps suspect - all appear to have been written/stamped at same time
 - I think maserati would be interested in this comment as maserati only previous owner!!!! Unless maserati like to defraud their customers!!!!!!!!!!!!

It allegedly had a new clutch at some point, but there was no paperwork to back up this claim. All you had to do was ask for invoice or phone lancasters

Could be worth a punt at £18k .... that is strange seeing as you offered £20k??????????? Clearly an attempt at putting off other potential buyers!!!
