I'm having a Parrot phone/iPod kit fitted next week but I also need a sererate Sat Nav kit.

What seperate Sat Nav systems do people have or would they recommend?

The Garmin Nuvi 205W seems excellent but I dont know which is best and which looks best in the Maserati?

I hope you can help so I can purchase the right system.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Iv'e had a Navman S80 for quite a while now and am very pleased with it.
It has bluetooth, so can also be used as a hands free car phone and works quite well.
I have not used it in my QP, so not sure how it would look...but the unit itself is quite slim.
here is a link, incase you wanted to view more details...

hey buddy, a lil inside info!!

you say u have a 4200 gt, and since looking at buying a sat nav, im guessing u dont have one in ur car activated,
u see people think that its a great idea to pay for the sat nav option!! fools!!
you see in the cars that have the option to have it in it, it has a nav free unit if not paid for,
well, many if not all mazzer owners dont realise that all units contain the sat nav, it is just a chip that is activated upon the unit if option option paid for and hr owen i know for one will charge a 1500!! to do this n lie about the operation n cost, did u relaise that you can take the unit\stereo out n send it directly to maserati? to get the chip activated
oh n its costs about £100!! including taking system out of car!! look into this n sod the extrernal sat nav

Marc, this sounds like an excellent option.

How do I do this? Do I need to go a specialist to have it removed and how long will it take to have it sent/returned?

Little dubious about sending something from my pride and joy off but it sounds like a good option.

Anyone else done this on the forum????????????????????

Mark

That would be great Marc.

I'm having a Parrot system installed on Tuesday so could use this same specialist to take the unit out if needed. I suppose it all depends on cost as a new seperate will be £130 and this is latest technology. Get feeling from reading what others say on this site that the Masa system is not the best.

I appreciate your help mate
