Hi folks, does anyone have experience of importing a car to UK from Europe (either Italy or France)? I understand that DVLA require an EC Cert of Conformity. I am looking at a couple of Biturbos at present which are on foreign plates and wondered how simple/difficult it is to get hold of such a cert from Maserati UK ? Any advice / comments much appreciated.

If the cars are EU cars you should not need the cert as all cars have to meet the same standard; hence the CE mark on the plates.

I've got one which is currently for sale. It's on French plates but I'd be happy to sort out the transfer/MOT for you. I've not done it before but been told it's pretty straightforward. My car's my own private sale but can be viewed on my site: www.richardgracecars.co.uk It's a beauty if you want a rare 2.24v. Low miles and just serviced and had the lot sorted at Autoshield Maserati.
