One to ponder;

How to they measure the capacity of a boot ? They quote it as 478 litres or so, in the minds eye you think of a bottle of water and they are not a nice easily packed shape.

I did think a large bag which they fill with air, that way they can measure exactly how much air goes into the bag ?

Hi Del,
There's a couple of ways that are used to measure measure loadspace.
1. They fill the loadspace with "Litre" blocks, each measuring 200x100x50mm. The blocks are then counted , and the numerical result is converted into cubic metres.
2. Measure the volume of a fine grained material such as rice or sand which can be deposited into the loadspace.
Either method sounds a complete faff
Cheers
Ronnie

Being an Italian car do they not measure the number of bodies that can be fitted in and then weigh them?

I'd have thought a 3D laser scanner would have given a quick and easy answer these days

Not sure, but I think the "Bodies In The Boot" method is only applicable to the Quattroporte .
