Hi

Just had my 4200 CC serviced for 56k mileage at an official maserati dealer and it appears that the L/H catalytic converter is broken and need to be changed. they are quoting a whopping GBP2,400 for an official Maserati replacement.
Apparently it seems like you can have some aftermarket cats converter or fit a Larini one for much less than that. Woudl you have any advice of which road to go down for? I se that Larini catalytic converter are around GBP800 at Performance italia. can those be fitted with a genuine Maserati exhaust system ?
Also, which good indi do you think I should go for in London area for this?
Also is there any risk runnign hte car for short distance with the engine light on as a result?
Thanks, help would be very much appreciated on this

Hi Floyd,
Dependant on the extent of damage to your cat, I would use your car as little as possible. If the cat is breaking up there is a danger of the bits being drawn back up into your engine causing damage. There is a thread on here somewhere explaining this in more detail.
Regards,
Ronnie
