Anyone have experience of any available alternative to complete panel respray? I have miniscule but annoying chip marks that I can't really see warranting respray - any "magic" pens or other touch-ups been used with success? I know the results will be less than pristine, but I bought the car as a daily (weekly) driver & not laze about in the garage.

Not sure how many chips you have, I bought from these people

The colour match is great, you get thinner and lacquer plus the paint. you will need plenty of patience and a steady hand. I had load of very small chips on the bonnet (motorways), so bought a horse hair brush and did a couple each weekend. I have a garage plus a spare car so that made it easier though.

Tony, Thanks a lot for that - you hit the nail on the head. I don't know about shipping to Thailand but will give it a go & yes I think I have the patience to do a couple at a time & restore the paint so I can fixate on something else.

Perhaps try this:

I've seen some positive reports from other forums. Looks like you have to be less careful with the application of paint as the kit includes everything to ensure a good finish rather than touch up paint 'blobs'

Mark, Thanks for that, definitely gives both food for thought & another option - mine is same as yours Grigio Alfieri but with Nero interior.

Would like to share the outcome with the Dr. Colorchip paint system. Ordered the large size kit from the U.S. & it arrived safely in the Thailand jungle 4 days after order. I was really shocked after I mapped out the blemishes on each "side" of the car (done so I would remember what was needing attention) totalled up about 60-odd marks. These included road-rash (small white specs), fine scratches, door ding with penetration into the primer, chips of up to 5 mm in dia.
For the main part the system worked really well with everything apart from the 5 mm chips. Very easy to use, especially on the road rash. Not so hot on the chips, but as they say on their leaflet, it is sometimes better to apply the paint & not try to flatten it to get the "perfect" result - just enough colour on to stop your eye being drawn to it.
None of the blobbing problems normally associated with touch-up bottles, perfect colour match, really easy to use 8 ot of 10.
Thanks Mark for the tip & if anyone needs any visual aids will post some pics.

Good to hear you achieved a result you are happy with - I suppose that it would be asking too much to expect even the larger chips to be completely masked.

Some pictures would be excellent to see the before and after.

For those in the UK I have also seen an alternative which is closer to home

As Mark says above, I too would like to see some before and after shots if you can?  Its always good to get some feedback on things like this.

Cheers
Woody
