The event takes place over 17, 18, 19 September (it normally clashes, somewhat stupidly, with the Goodwood Revival). I have attended for the last three years and taken part in the "Rally Internationale Touristique" in my 60's Alfa. This year the Alfa is in bits so taking the Maser. Its good to arrive on the Friday since Friday night sees a floodlit concours d'elegance in the city centre. Saturday is the day-long classic rally which ends with a very good dinner in Angouleme's enclosed market. Sunday is the highlight -- really excellent races around the closed city street (the remparts) featuring everything from Bugattis to 60's sports cars. It's worth a visit for anyone getting a bit jaded by the ever more pretentious Revival, and the food is much better. I suggested to the organisers that they move the event so as not to clash with the Revival. The typically french response was "our event is much older so Lord March should move his event". La di da. By the way, we will be crossing from Plymouth to Roscoff (since I live in Cornwall).
