My drivers side door lock has decided not to work via the key fob !! All other functions and door , boot etc work. Before I go stripping the door to bits has anyone come across this issue and found an easy solution.

A battery reset may work, however experience would suggest a new door lock unit. My indie suggested getting both sides when I had the same problem as they either fail or are going to fail. Eurospares have them at a good price. Neil

If you have the same problem I had - driver's door fails to lock on the remote so passenger door locks then unlocks - then try this:

Interior door lock rocker button is mechanically connected to the door lock itself by a long internal rod which can bind.  It has a couple of grommets it passes through for support and can bind on these.  Rather than mess around taking the door card off I tried just working the rocker switch a few times until it loosened off and this seemed to do the trick. Gets a bit complicated as you have to open and close the door after a few (5?) lock/unlock sequences to avoid the system going into a huff and refusing to cooperate for a few minutes - temperamental italians!

To keep it all sweet I work those interior rocker buttons a coupl of times every few trips - no recurrence of problems.

Cheers
