We got together last September to celebrate the "respect for the aged" day (Japan has a thing with odd national holidays) for a drive to Hakone, a mountain resort area near Tokyo and here are a few photos.

Group Photos

(spot Waldo ... erm ... BigFoot in this photo )

The Oldies

The Biturbos

The Newbies

The odd one out!

A couple of videos
Here comes the Bora: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_ZPsBHQDKw

And lastly, my favourite photo:

Looks like a great day out for like minded enthusiasts,   Forgive my naivety but i attend a few japanese car auctions down in southampton and all the cars that come in there are right hand drive and i had  the impression  (automatically), that Japan drives on the same side as UK all the massers there are left hooker   just wondered why

In Japan they drive on the same side as in Britain. But imported cars (to Japan) tend to be with left steering wheels (except for Jags, Astons/etc of course).

It adds to the cool factor

Had no idea the brand was so popular over there, and a geat mix from over the years...almost puts us to shame.

Peter, the official Club here is not that big (about 150 members) but obviously not all owners are Club Members.

There is one member with an MC12 (though out in Hiroshima if I remember correctly, so won't be able to see it) but I think the best members' car is this one (which also I haven't been able to see in person):

Great pics Bigfoot.  I've enjoyed seeing your images and videos from various jaunts around Japan on the Maserati Life forum.  You have a very active club over there.

That blue Ghibli is much like mine: beautiful on the surface and a bit scruffy under the bonnet.

Have you had any luck with insurance yet?  I could put you in touch with a broker I have used before.  R.I.B (Rotherham Insurance Brokers), you speak to an actual person and they will work hard to get you covered at reasonable rates.

Welcome back to the UK and to the Maserati Forum UK.

Hey Coops, good to see you here too

Thanks for the offer re insurance, a UK-based pal of mine is helping me out and it looks feasible (apparently under classic car insurance and 3k limited mileage).

Hope to see your Ghibli in the near future and of course meet you for some serious petrolhead discussion
