Goodwood are very kindly holding the date for us. However we do need to get the numbers up and start thinking about getting the money together:

The costs are:
Goodwood Track hire: £ 3,145 ex vat so £550.38 to Gordon to allow us to use our cars total £3,695.38

includes: Goodwood Chief Instructor, Track Steward, Noise monitoring staff, Ambulance, Resmonse vehicles, Use of Ground floor of Jackie Stewart Pavillion.

Track sessions 09.00 to 12.00 and 13.00 to 16.00

AMRCO track day public liability insurance £200.00 no vat................................ surely a must?

Hire of twenty helmets £125 ex vat.....................Rich & I have our own but I guess this will be a must?

ARDS registered Instructors £185 ex vat a day

7 track marshalls with flags 2 way radios etc 2 fire extinguishers per post and support vehicles....£480 ex vat per day

Goodwood have advised me we need to have the 7 Track marshals etc...which is all in the name of safety....

Track hire £3145 plus vat £3,695.38
& Flag Marshals etc         £  564.00
Insurance                       £  200.00
Helmets£125 plus vat      £  146.88
Total                             £4,605.88

(I have tried to download the info from Goodwood..........Gavin it is a pdf file and the system says it is not supported? Help!)

Cost each therefore is £184.24 if 25 of us or £307.06 if only 15 of us, or pro rata, Very reasonable for an exclusive day!

It will be limited to 98db and all vehicles will be tested, At 25 cars we can have up to 10 vehicles on the track but I suggest we limit it to 5 cars in 15 minute sessions, which will allow all to enjoy the trackin relative safety and have a lot of track time throughout the day. Discuss?

Emblem Sports Cars of Bournemouth have kindly offered a support vehicle and staff member for the day

I thought I would offer it to the Maserati Club via their website....I am still a member.....to try and add some more Masers and feel we should be now taking any commitment from other marques of friends etc as above and also Emblem's clients....might mean a few Ferraris but hey! It may seem a long way off but only two months!

I would rather see Forum members, but for the 7 committing to it we need to see the event happen so opening it to all!

Can't commit at the moment, and still really hoping for something closer to home, the 450 mile round trip is a bummer! So don't wait for me
Great work tho' Malcolm H

Same as Rich I'm afraid...no interest from the Lotus club and the CSL Register......it would seem that it is the wrong time of year for most. 3 CSL have said maybe if there was 25 cars and the cost was £180...all I have spoken to have said if it was next spring they would come.

I'm in Paris that weekend but am trying to change it to the weekend before..should know by Tuesday next week.

Sorry Malc I have tried.

Well I've got 3 Lotus owners on www.Seloc.co.uk who have said they are interested if it was 25 cars.

Phil - S1 Elise
Juhn Thorne - S2 Elise
Chris Clinkard - S1 Elise or CSL

But as I said only if we get the numbers up.

Came home last night from my little stay away to find a Aston DB9 in the drive next to my house...looks like the new neighbours are playing at [and maybe winning] the 'Keeping -up-with-the -Jones' game.

The Goodwood event would make a grand day to get to know him so will mention it during Sunday car cleaning.

Andy thanks for all your efforts.....I'll keep trying for the numbers!

Aye Loz just so many poseurs!

Safrane dodgy neighbourhood you live in....DB9? Pah!            Hope all is well after your stay away?

I e mailed the Maserarti club last week to open it up to them...... heard nothing back as yet! I will try again.

Graham Wood are you out there? You wrote a good piece in Trident about the "South Coast Veterans" event earlier in the year.......can you bring this to the club members attention?

This event might just happen yet!

The Maserati club have kindly posted it on their events section on their Website although unfortunately they have edited out my reference to this forum. I.E. "Via the maseratiforum.co.uk" I am organising........never mind if it helps get the numbers. Sorry Gavin!

Also Emblem are kindly promoting it amongst their customers too!

I usually get a dozen or so friends together in December every year for a Track Day at Donington, I'll see if I can get any of them to come out a month early.  All good lads, can personally vouch for all of them, they would come and get involved with respect for overall organization of the day etc.

Anyway, can’t promise any numbers but I’ll see what I can do…

Cheers

Rog
