I don;t think this will polish out. Striking statistics that 10 of Ferrari's 458 model have either crashed or burnt out!

Must remember and tick "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" on the options list when I order mine!

Not good news for Ferrari (no disrespect to Ferrari), the Gallardo LP 560-4 at 550bhp and the Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni at 540 bhp were way ahead of the Scuderia and you can see the LP 570-4 Supperleggera competing with the 458 Italia. The limited edition 599 GTO which has come out this year can be said has purely come out to compete against the Murcialago LP 670-4SV which was way ahead of the 599 with the handling packs so one can see a trend of Ferrari chasing Lamborghini. With the Mclaren MP4 12C coming out next year there will be yet more competition.

Here is the verdict ... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=22425

Saw a feature about the 458 fire issue on the news last night. They seem to be suggesting the the adhesive which is used to hold the rear inner wheel arch is the cause of the problem. Apparently after the car has been running for a while it gets hot and catches fire! Somebody somewhere at Ferrari must be getting a massive kicking!
