Maybe a strange question, but do any of you have particular shoes you prefer when driving?

I don't have any traditional 'driving shoes' such as moccasins with the wrap around heel, nor something more sporting like Pilotis, but I do have some shoes which I prefer to others if I know I'm going to be driving any distance, or on roads that I know are going to be enjoyable.

Hi Andrew,
I  have an old pair of desert boots that I like. The thin, wide sole is great for pedal feel and heel/toe.
Desert boots ??? God I'm showing my age !!!
Cheers

I have a special pair of soft rubber soled shoes with a velco strap. I put these on to drive then wear normal leather uppers for walking. There are very comfortable, got them from Clarks.

Will most probably get hit over the head, but I must admit that I prefer to drive w/o shoes. It is a pain to get them on when you leave the car, but if I stay behind the wheel for a longer period, the shoes are off!

Generally speaking, no, but there's some I would prefer not to drive in (walking boots etc).

I havent done a track day for a long time, but a pair of £20 Lonsdale's do the job nicely - they're like slippers!

A bit chavvy, I'll grant you....but something like this.....

That's the thing I'm finding.  With the exception of the Piloti Sebring or Laguna, there are no driving shoes that don't look either chavy or are moccasins.

Not that it matters THAT much, but I'm interested to see that the choice is so limited.

I suppose the vast majority don't know nor care about the difference shoes can make when driving.
