hi all, When I was working on the 3200 yesterday I pulled the passenger seat right back. Unfortunately it won't work now. There are two cables with connectors not connected in the loom below the seat, one is a black-red-yellow 3 pin waterproof connector (female) (looks like an data connector but don't suppose it is) and one white plastic square 2 pin molex type connector. Never had troubles with the seat so, not sure where these have come from or whether they were connected to start with. The money is on these cables being pulled out of the memory position and heated seat controller on the left hand side... Can anyone enlighten me in case something else breaks while I try and investigate the wrong thing ... Cheers Zomb

The 3-pin connector is the diagnostic connector for the seat control module, so usually is not connected. However, I'm not able to locate the two-way connector in the schematics. In any case, the connections for the other seat should be similar.
Regards,
Javier

Have you tried either a battery or seat reset? (There is a procedure for the latter)

Many thanks for the replies. It does look like a diagnostic connector. If only the cars came with a reader!! I have not tried a seat reset or a battery reset as the seat seems to be totally dead with not even a whir of acknowledgement. I will give it a go though!!

Quick update, tried the seat reset procedure but no-go the seat is not responding. I will try a battery disconnect and see how it goes. Many thanks, Zombie

The black-red-yellow 3 pin connector is the diagnostic socket for SD2/3 equipment.

As Javier has already stated above, check the wiring under the Drivers seat and reconnect the Passenger seat accordingly - Suggest using a flat mirror and torch for the purpose

hope this helps

Dear all, Many thanks for the replies. I have now fixed the issue thanks to the forum. What fixed it is your suggestion to disconnect the battery and reconnect it again. I think what happened is that while I was trying to fix the air con problem, the battery ran down and then we had a "brown out" causing the seat micro to lock up. Also had the interesting -40C outside temperature warning when it just about started up lol. I note that the seat micro is always on even when the car is turned off so dissing the battery is the only way to reset the darned thing once it has locked up. Anyway its working now... thanks and happy days!!
