Hi guys,

Am new to this forum, and have never owned a maserati but I am seriously thinking about moving into a GTS, so  was hoping for some advice/guidance.

I have to admit, apart from thinking the car looks amazing, i don't know an awful lot about them...the questions i have are:

- are they reliable?
- would be doing 8-10k miles a year - is it realistic to expect this to be trouble free?
- is it really a four seater? I have two 7 year olds, i am 6-1 - could i realistically get kids in back on a 3-4 hour journey - they would need to be on boosters!
- have there been many/any model year variations? If so what MY changes were made?
- whilst i understand the manual is the preferred option, i drive in and out of town everyday, often in traffic, so have normally always opted for an auto version of any car i have gone for - is the auto really a different car?
- realistic prices? - briefly searching through autotrader there are 2010 cars offered at similar prices as 2008 cars! what could i realistically expect to achieve for 60-70K
- are there any known issues that i need to look for/avoid?

Many thanks in advance for any opinions offered, apologies for just jumping straight into forum and asking questions!!

go for it.

The GT s, in fact all Maserati's are just as good as main stream cars now as long as you do not scrimp on service.

Easy to fit 4 in the car, but remember its a coupe and not a limo...but it is the same wheel-base as the QP and thats a big car.

The Auto has a manual facility vi the paddles but it is not as involving as the CC box

check rocker cover gaskets for weeps as this affects the 4.2 and 4.7 engines fitted to the current range and the 4200/GS

Very few changes over the current run, expect some small up-grades each model year but a large one to the rear bumper at the end of 2010.

Lots to choose from so barter hard...and GET IT INSPECTED if not from a main dealer with an approved Trident Warranty. Many cars are hitting company change over times 2/3 years
