Insurance
About £600 a year FC, 35 good looking male, 3 points and in a crap postcode.

Running costs - on a steady run mid 20's to the gallon. All the normal wear and tear items really depend on mileage, and these cars probably do not do a lot.

Servicing - The man that looks after mine ( he has 4 maseratis himself) always says that you can run a Ghibli on BMW money, whereas a 3200 needs Ferrari money - maybe, although he is not referring to a 2 litre 3 series.
Services to date have varied between £600 and £1400. The £1400 did include the repair of the air con control system and valve and a replacing of the seals in the rear diff. I would say a "normal service" should about £6-700.
The one to watch for is the inlet chains - about 45 - 50,000 miles engine out £2,000 to £3,000. If it is out it is always worth replacing the clutch and other odds and sods. Watch for cars for sale with low 40K on the clock !!!
That said people have said unless you can hear the chains rattling why bother ??

Parts do tend to be pricey - a wheel is the best part of £1,000, lack of spares is also starting to become an issue. I was told by Maranello that there were no front bumpers left !!!.

Having looked through my file of paperwork, over the last 9 years my Cup has gone from 25,000 miles to 53,000 miles. During that time, servicing and repairs at Meridien have added to £26,000. So, if you want to keep a car like this really nice, and stay within the Maserati network (which many owners won't), i'd suggest a budget of £3000 per year. Of course, some years will only be £1000 - but if you suddenly need wheels, brakes, clutch, balance chains, rust repairs etc, you are looking at a big bill.
