Cor blimey guv!

I know it's all been a bit busy of late and of course the "car season" slows down at this time of year!

Hope you are both keeping well

I guess you havn't gone to the classic car show at the NEC either?

Malcolm, Gavin, Richard, et al,

Yes I think its that time of year when everything and everyone slows down a bit, cars come off the road, or go for fettling. Mine's in for a service and new windscreen and repair to windscreen surround where rust is getting in. McGrath's have found a good bloke to do the windscreen replacments on Biturbos and to get the seals right, they're notoriously difficult apparently. Did a good job on Keith Davies' 222, which is now up for sale.

Like you I haven't been to NEC, it always clashes with work and other commitments, but I was there in part - a Birdcage photo of mine which I took at See Red was going to be used in the stand display.

If we get a sunny dry Sunday this winter perhaps we'll meet up at a pub or something? Or are you guys wrapping up your treasures in cotton wool for the winter? !!!

Cheers
Roger

Hey Roger

Yet more quality photography eh? Well done

Talking of the Bird Cage.....did anyone catch fifth gear last week....I can't nor, ally as we don't get channel 5 but I was passing time in hospital....don't waste any sympathy on me......part of the show was dedicated to the hairy presenter stalling the Birdcage three times at the start of the hill at the Festival of Speed! As a concept it apparently doesn't have an alternator (that's what they said) so was dead after the third stall!Shouldn't laugh in hospital but it was good medicine!!!!!!!

Love to meet for a fluid social I'm not mothballing the Spyder but will be aiming to avoid the salt as much as poss!

Malcolm,

Yes I saw the prog. Tom Ford is the culprit journo who deprived us of the sight of the Birdcage going up the hill. According to the Fifth Gear website he normally drives a Smart (albeit highly modified). No offence Tom but .... ! More the fault of whoever was in charge of the car for not lining up a driver already attuned to handling the beastie.
And yes OK I quite often stall my 222 in reverse!

Perhaps looking at a Sat or Sun lunchtime in Dec when I've got my car back? Surrey / Sussex / Hants area? Have to see how the weather's doing nearer the time.
