I am due to get a Larini exhaust fitted on Thursday.  Do I need to inform my insurance company as its a modification?

Thanks for any reply.

To be honest and on the safe side , its worth the phone call, i did it on my 4200  re the tubi and also told them about the gs front and back bumpers and side skirts  didn,t make a blind bit of difference once i explained that they are the same on the  later model of the same car the   GS   did,nt affect the premium at all    , but you know insurance companies, that if they had a chance to wriggle out of paying  they would    play it safe

regards lozcb

Thanks Loz,  I phoned the insurance company up and they have added the exhaust to my policy at no extra premium.  They did say that it was essential to inform them of what I was doing.
Getting the Larini fitted tomorrow,  cant wait!

My insurance company upped the Excess by £200 and increased the premium after I informed them I had made 2 modifications (Sports exhaust and DBW)...
No surprise, It was the exhaust mods that caused the excess and premium rises as it has increased the number of horses...
Regards,
Enzo.

When I added the full Larini exhaust to my 3200GT (including decats) Michael Ward Associates were totally cool with it. I think it pays in the long term to have insurance with people who actually 'get' these kinda cars, and their semi-bonkers owners.
