Has anyone got any idea who would be a good insurance company to use to insure my 4200. I've tried some of these comparrison sites but still struggling to get it under £1050. I've got 5 years no claims and have had my license 8 years. Any tips would be much appreciated!!

Adrian Flux insured me on a 308 at 25 but that was a couple of years ago.  They insured my 3200 too but I was over 30 by then.

Who was that with,  I pay 1200 and I have 9 years no claims, and no points and a licence held for 15 years.

I must be bending over and being given it royal by that fooking nodding dog!

Rich (under 30) just got a good deal with A plan on his Alpina and the Ghibli is insured with them at the moment with him as named driver. I (old fart like Loz!) just switched from A plan back to Adrian Flux as they got very aggressive with their quote...ironically with the same insurer! Next year it could go either way. Ghibli will probably be with Adrian Flux shortly due to the ongoing modifications causing insurers to twitch!

Loz,

Insurance is like printing money for these guys. I read you other post for the quote for your lads,  I drove my dads lotus when I was 18-19, I HAD to have one!! So I'm dissapointed for them.

I run a 215kg 205Bhp motorcycle that will hit 62 in under 2.5 sec (can go faster, but can't hang on under full throttle, wheeelie city)and will probably do 200mph in derestricted tune. £600 fully comp and a licence for only a few years 3-4 years no claims......reasonable...

A car costing a couple of grand more to buy than my bike  and 14 years driving with 14 years no claims, £1200..... Unreasonable. Any sort of bump and they write these things off!!

I went through a company called Nowell & Richards and pay £520 a year for myself and my wife fully comp with a £500 excess.   I had the usual high quotes from the usual comparison websites, usually around £1100 to £1800.

Nowell & Richards take into consideration your previous cars,  so if you have previously had a high powered car and no claims your quote will be low.
I dont mind the £500 excess as I wouldnt claim unless it was a bill higher than £1000 anyway, to protect my no claims bonus.

Insured lots of performance cars under 30 and usually the gocompare type sites are useless.  Having previous experience of performance cars seems to help a lot with insurers.
Try elephant, admiral, Adrian Flux and A plan (performance car division in Thatchem I think).
Good luck

Hi,
Tesco insurance 520 quid garaged at night me and the other half ( She holds Danish licence) 500 quid excess on a 2004 4200.
Could have got a little cheaper but that had to many restrictions. This was internet quote, had the insurance certificate 2 days later.

Try Richard Egger as an alternative. My 1st supercar £540 3 points but full no claims but over 40 though.

Turn your tracker on to full ADR & that should help.

If a 350 bhp Lotus Esprit V8 Bi turbo, or 3 lotus Excels, a maserati 3200 or a 200 odd bhp motorcycle all driven and owned for 10 years plus doesn't cut it for exotic experience I don't know what will.

Not got any points at all and I have two insurance policies in my name with over 10 years no claims on each.  Gonna try and lookelse where in may!!
