Hello again all, posted this question sometime ago but looking for more info again. My younger brother could not get insurance at any realistic rate for a Maserati or any other exotic so he has decided on a Range Rover Sport Supercharged (2006) which is well depreciated and is only group 17. It turns out now he is even having trouble getting underwritten for that. My question is wether there are any specialist companies who can work on agreed values or make special policies for him. He is only 19, and just got his UK license but has had licenses from many other countries and even has racing credentials, as well as policies for many other exotics in different places. Is there any way he can be insured outside of the normal processes? The other options is that I can try and insure his car and place him as a named driver, I am 26, not a UK resident or license holder (US) and have a clean driving record. Is it even possible to get insurance as a foreigner? I assume there are many people who have a home and keep a car in the UK who are not residents. Any input would be greatly appreciated as Im sure all of you have had much experience with insurance issues. Thanks in advance.
