I've just spent a good few hours today washing and polishing every bit of paintwork I can get my hand to. It looks good but crikey, you really get to see the imperfections when you pay so much attention to the detail.

Can anyone recommend someone that will sort out all the chips, scratches and previous poor repairs? Ideally not too far from Harlow but if it is then, great, I'm always looking for a reason to drive somewhere.

I used Mur cleaner followed by their polish. It was easy to apply and remove afterwards, almost leasurely. One part I'm not so happy with is the chrome grill and trident. Any ideas to get it better?

Now that the shine is all my own work I've added the avatar.

Got a couple of friends off the A406 in Edmonton, North London. About 45 minutes away from Harlow. They are called AD Couchworks and they have done some work on my Masa, previous 911's and my Cayenne. Got all the right stuff to match up chassis numbers to paintwork. If your interested, I give you their number.

No problem. 02088840976 and ask for Aki. Tell him your a friend of mine, Harry by the way and he will sort you out. Dont be put off by the size or condition of their workshop, as their work is firstclass. If you prefer, I give them a call first and tell them to expect a call.

Thanks Circleace. I'll give them a call over the next couple of weeks.

I didn't see any ideas for getting the chrome grill a bit more sparkly. In my younger days I would use Autosol, I see it's still going but, if I remember well, it's an abrasive. I'm interested to find out what others have use with a good result.

Thanks Povoro. I actually used Meguiars All Metal Polish eventually, I hadn't seen their Chrome X. Took a lot of elbow grease as it couldn't have been polished for a while. Now looks good despite the downpours we've just had.

Looking at your time of posting it must of been be quiet early for you down there.

Hi Klive,
Yes, some late night/early mornings busy preparing for a new baby arrival in a few weeks.

Apologies, I was confused with another product from Meguairs, however I actually use "Mothers Chrome Polish" Thats the one to buy - Grille and trident look brand new.
