Hi Guys

After my 3200GTA was written off 18Months ago I  have decided to take the Maserati Plunge again...I am now  the pround owner of a late 06  Black GT Sport with 20 inch wheels.. looks fab in my opinion.

Couple of questions if anyone can help??

  1. Is changing the Oil & Filter possible at home? Car has been in dealers for 3 Months so I would like to drop out the old stuff...
  2. Does this model comme with Skyhook as standard? i recall my 3200 having red stepper motors on the suspension legs. On this Car all I can see is 2 wires coming out of the top of the suspension turrets & going to a connector?
  3. Does the Sport button open up butterflies in the exhaust to increase power? This is what i have been told.
  4. Car has tyre pressure monitors fitted,, does that complicate things when  tyre replacement is due?

Thanks in advance

Dave

Hi Dave,

Answers below in blue as best as I can answer.

Do post up some pics when you get the chance.

  1. Is changing the Oil & Filter possible at home? Car has been in dealers for 3 Months so I would like to drop out the old stuff... (If the car has been purcashed as certified pre-owned from a Maserati dealer then this should not be necessary. I would only do this if I were very experienced and had all the correct tools at home)
  2. Does this model comme with Skyhook as standard? i recall my 3200 having red stepper motors on the suspension legs. On this Car all I can see is 2 wires coming out of the top of the suspension turrets & going to a connector? (Not sure but a call to Maserati UK will tell you all the options on your car if you give them your VIN).
  3. Does the Sport button open up butterflies in the exhaust to increase power? This is what i have been told. (This feature is only on the factlifted 2009+ QP Sport GT S models. In older models, the sport button stiffens suspension if you have skyhook, gives higher revs in lower gears and changes gears more quickly)
  4. Car has tyre pressure monitors fitted,, does that complicate things when  tyre replacement is due?  (No extra complications. The TPMS is battery powered and transmits pressure wirelessly so no extra fussing required.)

Thx for the information,

I feel better with any "new to me car" if i have  the oil changed.. gives piece of mind when  your revving it out.....

I"ll try the VIN route to confirm options..

Cheers

Oh I forgot to mention that after changing tyres (or correcting tyre pressure) you will need to recalibrate by holding the TPMS button down on the roof panel until you get a "calibrated" message on the centre screen in between the speed an rev counters.
