Ladies and Gents,

Following a successful tour organised by Safrane in 2010 I am planning a repeat visit to the Lake District commencing 4th May, 2012. The outline proposal is to stay two or possibly three nights at the four star Wild Boar Hotel, Crook Road, Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 3NF.  (Two nights B&B costs approximately £224 per couple and three nights £336 when booked through the English lakes website.)  Spa facilities can be used by guests at their sister hotel 'Low Wood'.  Meet on the Friday for dinner with a splendid days driving through the mountains, lakes and villages on the Saturday. Take the opportunity to explore the countryside and tea shops. Another social dinner with wine to be savoured in the evening before bed. Dispersal after breakfast on Sunday....... Tempted. Come and join us....

Hello Paul

Nice idea, looks a good spot - would the Wild Boar Hotel be able to arrange overnight security if we all turn up in our pride and joys?

Another Paul

Hello Paul,

There is nothing unique about the hotel car park.  The parking would be similar to the arrangements we enjoyed at the Queens Head in 2010 - spacious and reasonable.   (I didn't book with them this year because they have  a minimum stay of three nights over the bank holiday weekend and as it happens they cost a little more)  I have visited (not stayed) at the Wild Boar previously and given the location, reputation and low crime, personally I do not have security concerns.

Regards,

Paul

I will be at our Lakeside home for that week to celebrate my wife's birthday, it would be great to come through to Windermere and meet up with you at some point, although as we have friends coming it might need to be for a coffee and a chat. Once you have set the schedule could you send me a PM and we can correspond to see if we can arrange. All the best.

Hello Paul

Will try and come up on the Saturday as we may have trouble replanting the nippers overnight.
AA website is telling me 92 miles and just under 2 hours from my garage... so should be OK for a day trip.
Please keep me informed via PM or otherwise, and I'll sort out my itinerary to link up in the Lakes.

Cheers

Paul from Glossop

Like Paul, we are inundated with rugrats, a small proportion only will fit in the back, but would like to meet up with you all, we are able to get up Friday if its OK, a meeting point afternoon would be good if anyone is up early? Not much seems to happen in the 'North'.
This is my first post, 3200 arrived November, spent half that timeat the menders; so mixed emotions so far over ownership, have been in love with them for 11 years since a client had one, even sitting in garage it makes me happy, looking forward to putting some real miles on.
Forum is brilliant for us novices.

Hi Kookaburra and Richkid,

I will be pleased to keep you posted regarding developments.  If it suits you then consider bringing the family for a mini break?  Whatever the size of the party we look forward to meeting you and enjoying Maserati life in a spectacular setting. I remember the last excursion in 2010 with several Maseratis in convoy driving gracefully through local towns and villages.  The sheer presence of the formation generated huge interest and admiration for the marque. The rural roads provided an equally responsible but challenging and satisfying driving experience.

Kindest regards,

Paul

Are we still on with this excursion then?
Any of my new chums from Chatsworth fancy a drive north?
Do I need to wash my wheels, etc?

Cheers
Paul
