Just spent the morning cleaning the leather…must be a few cows worth in the car as everything is covered in it!

The bolster on the driver’s side has been touched up by someone prior to me. The guy must have used some leather paint which is now starting to peal…it looks crap and the colour match is appalling.

Does anyone know of anything to remove this or is it a re-trim? If so has anyone a surplus grey seat? Euro-spares have a Spyder they are breaking but have not replied to my question about buying the drivers seat…must be hoping to sell it as a job-lot. Can’t say I blame them. Or is there a good trimmer near Bristol?

Thank you

Peter

You could either get them re-connolised at Tognolo or retrimmed at Southbound. Have seen the work of both and they were both good.

Will chat to Malcombe at Castle Combe about Emblem's neighbours who I think are the trimming experts.

Thanks

As I can't drive at the moment I decided to take a look at the painted seat again. I noted only a small patch was worn but the clown who repainted it, painted half the seat because he did not have a colour that matched 100%

After some checking on the types of paint used I found that ‘Nail Varnish remover’ would remove it.

Taking care not to soak the trim I used a few dozen cotton wool pads with remover to remove all the paint, now I have just two ware points rather than a patch work seat. Plenty of washes later I treated the leather to some swisvax feed and it looks 100% better than before.

Problem with the cheep fix is longevity…looks good at first but after a couple of weeks in wear areas it just peals away.
