This year will be the 10th anniversary of MITCAR.  For those who don't know, this is the annual Midlands Italian Car Day and I am the event organiser.  Details about the principles, trophies, venues etc. are to be found on the website, www.mitcar.co.uk, but this is a gathering of Italian cars of every description, modern or classic, humble or exotic and always at a different venue somewhere in the Midlands.  Last year there were over 250 cars at the fabulous Burghley House, which was a hard act to follow.  However, I'm pleased to have secured CHATSWORTH HOUSE, for SUNDAY, 8 AUGUST next year, which might even go one better!
I have been a dedicated Alfa man for years, have owned 2 Ferraris and ran the E Mids section of FOC for 6 years, so my connections for these two marques are well established.  However, I am a Maserati 'newbie' (see the Looking for a 4200CC thread) and want to try to stimulate some interest and encourage a really good Maserati presence next year.
In fact, if any owners in the Midlands region would care to e mail me, I would like to establish an 'interest group' with a view to arranging get-togethers or whatever.  Maybe MITCAR could be a start.   What do you think?

Hey Bry, you should reach out to the Maserati Club UK too, to see if they could tap their member base for the event.

Yes, Bigfoot, I have the Maserati Club in my sights, in fact awaiting a membership application pack.  Need to join as I have already received a discount on the insurance on the strength of it!

Bry I would be interested in attending.  Chatsworth is a great venue and the farm shop is fantastic.

You will be most welcome Rogeydodge - in fact MITCAR always gives a welcome to any Italian car and it's owner! As always, just turn up!
Chatsworth will be absolutely fab I'm sure.  Burghley House was probably the best yet last year but for the 10th anniversary Chatsworth should be ace.
It's about time a Maser won the 'Car of the Day' Camshaft trophy!!.  Last year it was a gorgeous Lambo Urraco and over the years we have had a Ferrari (Mondial would you believe!) , two Lancias (Integrale and Appia), two Alfas (164 V6 and Giulia Ti), a Lambo Diablo and a Fiat Dino Spider.
I tell you, I always have a dilemma deciding which car to take but this year it is definitely gong to be my new baby!  I'll even be able to get all the gear in.  Last year I had to resort to Jenny's 500!  See below - last to leave!

New boy here. Just sorting out things to do this year and wondered about MITCAR so did a quick Google and found this place. I see that Bryan has also only recently joined so hopefully he will see this and confirm that all we have to do is turn up on the day. I did manage Grimsthorpe Castle in 2004 and then Bosworth Battlefield in 2006. I was hoping to make it last year but ill health put paid to most of the summer and unfortunately several car events so am looking forward to joining in the 10th anniversary celebrations. I'm not a Midlands car owner though as I reside in the Norfolk Broads area so the trip to Chatsworth will be a 360 mile round trip.

The car is one of the least exotic being of the Biturbo group but is one of the less common, it's a 228 from 1991.

Pip pip

Sounds like a good day out - certainly interested. Do you need to register nearer the time?
