I have organised a charity event for Maserati owners in the South and South West. It involves meeting at the Emblems Restaurant near Salisbury for a three course lunch and entrance to the British Hillclimb Championship event at nearby Gurston Down. Reserved parking will be provided at Gurston and all Maserati cars present will be able to drive up the hill in procession after the last timed event.

The event is in aid of the Fovant Badges Society and Help for Heroes and is supported by Emblems Sports Cars, Emblems Restaurant and BARC Gurston Down.

Hopefully there is an application form attached else please contact me.

(This is my first effort on the forum so who knows what will result!)

Thanks for your interest - I don't know about you but given that our local roads are buried in snow, a Spring Time run up Gurston Down seems a long way off. I am though pleased to say that bookings are arriving so hope to see you on the 29th of May.

Less that two week to go before this event and a unique opportunity to run your Maserati up Gurston Down Hillclimb after practice for the National Hillclimb Championship Event.

Chairman of Gurston Down Doug Auld and Clive Bate of Emblem Sportscars Poole are supporting this charity event which will raise funds for the Fovant Badges Society. A prize draw to raise funds for the "Help for Hero's" charity will also take place.

Tickets going fast so if you are interested please go to the intial post on this thread for  contact details and an application form.

Yes Paul I will be there!

Over 40 people have bought tickets and we have between 15 and 20 Maserati's dating from the 1970s onward. The weather forecast is fairly good, showers in the morning then brightning in the afternoon. Doug Auld chair of Gurston Down  hillclimb and his team have made a great effort to make us welcome - the reserved parking is close to the start line - and all is laid on for our run up the hill.

See you tomorrow.

Regards,

Richard

Just to report that the event was a great success. Over 40 people enjoyed a great lunch at the Emblems Restuarant at Fovant followed by an absolutely brilliant fast run up Gurston Down Hillclimb. We were able to raise just over £1,000 for the Fovant Badges Society and the prize draw raised a further £245 for Help for Heroes. My special thanks go tp all of you who attended and to Clive Bates and his team at Emblems Sportscars and Doug Auld and all the marshalls and others at Gurston Down. The run up the hill was ear to ear grin stuff, thanks guys.

I have had so much positive feedback that we will run the event again next year with a similar format but, if it can be arranged, more time on the hill.

I have uploaded some pictures from the event and if you follow the attached link/instructions there are some great pictures of all the cars through the hairpin.

www.everleyphotography.co.uk. Just follow the Gurston
link and then the Maseratis link to a selection of action shots on the hill
at the Karousel hairpin.

See you next year if note before.

Richard
