For those obsessive car cleaners I can offer an excellent value deal on microfibre cloths

A pack of 36 40cm x 40cm cloths (in yellow for those who wish to know!) for just £21. That's less than 60p per cloth. I use these cloths when cleaning my cars and my cleaner steals them for household cleaning as well. They are washable, and so reusable, or you can use them once on your pride and joy and then confine them to your pile of rags.

Postage will be extra or they can be collected from me near J18 of the M25. I will need to weigh the package and work out the cheapest postage costs and will advise on here.

Please let me know your interest.

MAF,

Are these "Detailers Preference" cloths?

I do need some more cloths so if you rate these and if they're a good price, I'll give 'em a crack.

Can you let me know postage too please?

PM payment details and I'll sort it.

Cheers
Woody

Hi Woody,

The manufacturer is Eurow, who make automotive detailing products:

http://www.euroworeilly.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=26_6

I've been using these for a couple of years and only use them once on my cars for polishing as they're so cheap. They're a good size, decent quality and lint free.

Postage by Royal Mail standard parcels will be around £8. If anyone knows of any cheaper way of sending these please let me know as all postage costs are passed through with no profit.

Hi Mark,

Got your PM, cheers.  I'm in a bit of a rush (to get to the pub!) so will look at sorting the wedge out later/tomorrow.  I might uses the £8 postage for petrol and use it as an excuse to take the GS out for a spin and meet another Maserati fan as I reckon you're 20-30 miles from me  (plus, I think your car is my dream colour combo - would love to see it in the flesh!) .

I'll have a think as if I cant get to do it over the next week or so, I'll have to go for the post option.

Cheers
Woody

No problem Woody, no rush. I'm in Chorleywood, not sure where you are. You'll be disappointed on the car front though as I'm Maser-less currently. Unless you're talking about my Alfa GT or E30 BMW convertible of course!

Mark,

Just to let you know that I'm pleased with these - I gave the car a wash and polish, quickly, over the last few days, and these cloths are great - very happy with them, thanks for sorting.

Actually, I must look mental to the neighbours, I've actually washed it three times in the past week - once becuase I was off to see a mate (the day I met you) and as that was a really ropey clean, I did it the next day too.  I then cleaned it again yesterday as a few hundred miles had added a lot of road grim/salt so thought I'd give it a rinse.  I worked my way through a fair few of these cloths, mind!

Cheers
Woody

Thanks Woody.

Great to meet you the other day and see your gorgeous car. Might have to start the hunt for mine again soon!

Nothing wrong with obsessive car cleaning - keeps me from being asked to clean things indoors!

Let me know if/when you need some more.

I've put mine in the washing machine (on delicate wash, much to the amusement of my missus!) and they've come up nicely.  I tend to not let them get too dirty but when they do, they get relegated!  They're not too dear to just get new ones reasonably regularly either at MAF's prices :)

Hi all,

To just add onto Woody's post, I have been using microfibre cloths and they are great. When buying the cloths always get the most thread count you can get as this absorbs water, polish better. Regarding washing them, I normally put them on 40 degrees, don't add any conditioner just washing powder and don't tumble dry them.

Thanks fellas, I thought as much. I didn't think you could use washing powder on them but i suppose its the texture of them that makes them what they are not what's in them.

If you're concerned about detergents damaging the fibres, then try using Dreft.

It's what is often recommended for technical fabrics which have water-repellent or resistant coatings which can be stripped off by more harsh detergents.

It's best at treating only lightly soiled clothes and not heavy loads. It doens't leave a lime **** deposit nor does it contain some of the harsher chemicals such as bleach.

If at all possible, wash them with liquid detergent as it leaves less deteregent residue and let them dry naturally ( Not in tumble drier ). There are different grades/types of towel, some for polishing and some for drying but the washing process is the same for both.
Cheers
Ronnie
