Dear fellow forum members,

I am going to be moving to London probably in June this year and I would like to bring my GranSport over with me from Japan.

The biggest worry I have is insurance, given I haven't lived in the UK for 4 years and as such lack any recent NCB.

I tried getting an online quote with directline, just to get an idea of cost, and was refused a quote !

If anyone has had a similar experience moving to England, I'd greatly appreciate getting some feedback as to what they did with regards to insurance.

Thanks!

Had this problem 4 years ago when the missus came back from China  after working out there fro 10 years , bought her the RX8  for a surprise , and was shocked when i couldn;t get her independant insurance , apparently they said she had to be resident for 6 months  before they would issue , so put it in my name and her as 2nd driver,

Try Aplan 01494 677776

they seem to be a little more specialist , and or Performance car Insurance 0844 4935 710

worth a try loz

Try Autonet Insurance, they offer an affordable fully comp XS policy for virtually anyone: newly qualified drivers, immigrants, teenagers and people with previous accidcents, the only thing is the excess of £3000 on anything. But sometimes they are the only option...

I used directline in the end and they would have accepted my no-claim from Japan ... had I had one

Price is not relevant as I insured a lowly Prius as there is yet to be a Trident in my garage.
