Just replaced battery on my 3200 GT, (the AA did !), and now the clock and the speakers do not work. The hi-fi is on ok but no sound from any of the speakers. Are the two related? On looking in manual, the clock fuse is not the same as sound and also it is not positioned in boot as I thought it may have been caught during battery change over.

Hi Spike,

I run a 4200 so I'll have to guess that the fuse layouts are the same? I recently changed over my battery and can tell you that they're a pig to fit. I had to take some care gently lifting the fuse units out of the way, both to get the old one out and then the new one in. Checking my manual I can see that the lowest of the fuse boxes, so the one closest to the battery contains the amplifier fuse. No.6 30A Green, bottom left corner. It might be worth checking this?

As for the clock, you're right, the fuse for this is in the passenger foot well, however mine is on occasion pretty flaky, but just sorts itself out when I reset it to the correct time.

Best of luck. Cheers, Emtee.

The lack of sound may be the speaker terminals touching the metal of the door, it happened a couple of times when I had the car, I did eventually insulate the speaker terminals properly, but I think Simon had the car booked into have the n/s passenger window realligned so they might have dislodged something when taking the door card off

When I had a battery change my clock stopped working. I removed, unplugged and replugged the clock and it started again and has been fine ever since! May not be the same solution for you, but worth a try. To remove the clock you first need to remove one or both air vents, then reach in and pop the clock out with your fingers.

whip the speakers out the doors and check they aren't shorting against the metal.

Cheers, got car booked into Oxford Car Audio this morning so hopefully will resolve. As much as I like the sound of that V8, I miss Radio 4 !!!

Sorted...as you said, speakers were touching metal door trim.

It really is amazing how much advice you can get on here and usually it is spot on.
