I've spent the last couple of weekends cleaning and waxing the car and I'm very pleased with the results and thought I'd share some photos...

I really do think that the 3200GT with the boomerang tailights are just awesome cars...

Hope the photos above actually show when I submit...

Lovely looking car, very tidy.....now its been a long time since I lived in Putney, 25 years in fact, but I am thinking that is Shepherd's Bush?

By the way who's is the 4200 in the background on the corner?

Looks great, just needs something on the tyres to make it look as new!

thanks for the comments...
I hadn't touched up the tyres but now you mention it, I can see what you mean... I'll have to get that sorted.

Malcolm H - I actually drove to a side road next to the southern end of clapham common and just by coincidence there was another Maserati parked on the corner.  I wandered over to check it out but there are a couple of things which I don't like about them... the small Maserati badge on the front and obviously the square rearlights... the 3200GT rocks.

Jamie - You've got good colour taste :-)

Looks lovely, it is a top colour.  I thought it might be South side, I worked on West side for a couple fo years and we used to use the common for photgraphing the cars quite often.

Ah! Clapham Common knew I recognised it just couldn't place it!

But the car is the star!

I agree with you that the boomerang lights were a great loss when not carried onto the 4200. Mines a Spyder so I didn't have to make a decision on which model and they are both great after all!

Funnily enough set out to buy a 3200 and bought the Spyder instead!

Rock on!

I use P21S wax as it's got a high carnuba content and it received great reviews from "detailing" enthusiasts on another forum (http://www.uk-mkivs.net - hence my choice of username!)

And if you're car suffers from swirl scratches then Clearkote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze is meant to be awesome but I haven't tried it myself yet.

And if anyone really likes to know the steps to getting a perfect finish, then the below is a useful guide.

Real shame indeed that the boomerang lights didn't get carried over and I read somewhere that it was because the USA changed their regulations and the lights no longer conformed so had to be changed and again seem to recall that the USA was a major target market for Maserati at the time.

When you wash, always do the two bucket method.....bucket with the shampoo and a bucket to rinse the sponge/wool mitt before loading with shampoo again...keeps the shampoo water clean and reduces the micro scratches. It's all on a thread somewhere......

It was indeed the American market that halted the boomerangs!
