Any one here use a polishing machine when cleaning and waxing there cars , having got up early   re the grandprix , lovely sunny morning thought i'd wash and  wax the car ,  got so enthusiatic  ended up doing  the Merc and the RX8 , it was really satisfying and enjoyable , but im suffering for it this evening, have a dodgy right arm ,  and now its doubly painfull, polishing machine would make things a lot easier  but concerned about too much regular use , i reckon i probably clean the cars every 2/3 weeks  and wax about every 2 months    thoughts gentleman please re using the machine 5/6 times a year

regards loz

Hi Loz,

Yep this sounds familiar. I had been looking at number of these for a while but seemed prices but found a polisher / sander from Halfords using velcro and is great for the large surface areas and then use a pair of those microfibre gloves (I look like someone who chews their nails) for the tricky parts but is much easier and was a reasonable £29 with a polishing pad and applicator.

I use a Silveline rotary polisher with different pads from 3M and Meguiars etc.  DA machines are lighter and easier to use for a novice though don't think you'll have a problem.  Five or six times a year is a bit excessive if you're polishing with anything more than a very light polish - once every six months should do it with wax topups every month or so.
