I had a test drive today in a QP Sport GT.  It was very quiet in general: a real "woosh" mobile.  However, there was a hollow whistling noise that I couldn't quite fathom, it was the predominant noise at 40-50 mph on reasonable roads.  The salesman suggested that it was the 20" sports wheels - is that bourne out by anyone's experience out there?

It is an auto with paddle shift, a great drive.  Does anyone know if the auto has a lock up in 3rd gear onwards (some autoboxes do to remove the torque converter slip)?
Thanks in advance for your comments

they can suffer from road noise, but I've never noticed anything in particular that would be considered obtrusive, unless you are on a concrete road (like the bit on the M1 just outside leeds) then generally they are very quiet. never noticed any hollow whitling on mine ever... the road noise is generally a low frequency done noise.

Mines a duo select, so cannot comment on the box and locking feature.

good luck with the purchase

Check which brand of tyre the car was running perhaps, also are they matching all round?

Thanks for your thoughts.  It's most probably tyre noise, and noticable (but not intrusive) because there's not much other noise.  Since the test drive, I have listened carefully to my current car, and there is much more engine, wind and passing traffic noise in the mix.  The QP was so serene at these loitering speeds - fabulous.
