There are normally 2 keys and a CODE CARD supplied with the vehicle.
The card has 2 codes on it which indicates the following:
Electronic code A, which is to be used in the procedure for 'emergency starts', and
Mechanical code B, which is to be used when ordering duplicate keys.

the QP V comes equiped with the Maserati CODE system which is an electronic engine immobilizer. This is automatically activated when the ignition key is removed.
Each key contains an electronic device which transmits a code signal to the Maserati CODE control unit and the engine ignition is only enabled if the key code is recognised by the system.

If the Maserati CODE fails to deactivate the engine immobilizer, a light will be illuminated in the instrument panel, and the engine will not start...
The engine can then only be started using the 'emergency starts' procedure, and for this you will need the Electronic code A.

Regards,

Enzo.

Hi there,
In the case if the car key has fail to deactivate the car immobilizer, how to use the Electronic code A to activate the emergency starts and Is the car turn to work normally after that?
my 05 QP is being lock by immobilizer system but there is no Maserati dealer in my country at all so I really get stuck here with this...
Please give me some advice to solve this.
Best Regards

Steps,
1 Get CODE No.
2, Turn ignition to MAR and CODE and EOBD Engine symbols should remain lit.
Press and hold accelerator pedal for 8 seconds. EOBD should go out. Release accelerator pedal and count the number of time EOBD flasshes
As soon as it flashes the same number of times as the first number on your key card press your accelerator down until it goes out, about 4 seconds. Release accelerator.
4, The EOBD will start flashing again and do the same sequence as soon as your second digets number strats to flash.
5, Rappid flashing confirms the process is over and you should be able to start the car from the MAR position.

Best of luck

Thanks Peter,
I'm trying to get the Code as I dont have the user manual any more.
As soon as I get the Code, I will follow your suggestion.
Could you explain more about the MAR position and the EOBD lights.
As there is no authorise Maserati dealer in Vietnam, we don't have the Maserati SD3. Will the car work normally afterward without be fixed by Maserati SD3 system.
If not, then I have to get Maserati service man from abroad like Singapore come over to help.
Best Regards
Danny

MAR is the key position just befor the starter click to start the car. The EOBD Light is the motor symbol on the dash in yellow/orange.

Best of luck

I have got the code and send it with your suggestion step to my technician in Vietnam.
However, he told me that there is no EOBD light appear when he put the key on and turn to MAR possition.
I am still in the UK so I could not seen it myself.
My Quattroporte is 2005 model, should it be any different on the EOBD light?
Regards
