Hi guys,

I recently bought a used Maser 4200 Spyder.... it had a horrible tacky dealer sticker in the plastic rear window, which I removed however it left a lot of sticky mess... Does anyone have any suggestions on the best/easiest way to remove the sticky residue that has been left behind on the screen??? I don't want to scratch the screen and its an awkward place to work on to start with!

Any suggestions or products will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!! :)

Heat it up with a hairdrier - should then just peel off once the glue has softened.

Oh, sorry - didn't read it properly.....you've already removed it! Hairdrier generally avoids leaving much of a residue. It might still be worth trying....heat it up and then wipe off with a warm damp cloth.

Failing that, alcohol or lighter fluid?

I have always managed to remove the residues with alcohol as nigw has suggested, but on glass. I advise a small test first on the plastic although it shouldn't be a problem. Best readily available source of alcohol is 'surgical spirit'.

Meths will remove the glue without reacting with the plastic screen.

I'd use alcohol as already recommended. White spirit can react with some plastics.

And you can drink any left overs...come to think about it you could drink white spirt, but it does leave a bitter after taste!
