I have discovered a couple of rust bubbles under the drivers side rear light cluster which is a surprise. Does anyone know how long the anti corrosion warranty runs for on a Gransport. Before anyone answers I fully  expect the answer to be less than 4 1/2 years which is it's age :(

thanks.

I believe it was 2 years and that is still the case on the new cars. My Gransport is 6 1/2 years old and I just had to get the area below my offside headlamp treated - about a 2 inch patch. The work was done by a contractor organised by Graypaul Nottingham and was not expensive. I also tied up the door edges and parking knock. They checked the rest of the body in the process. Damon

If you have had the car looked after by a main dealer they may look at it as a good will gesture...thats what DL told me when I has paint flake off my 4200's head light surrounds

Rust bubbles under the rear tail lamps is a known problem @ the factory
Reason: There is a panel joint that has been bronze welded but poorly prepared inside the trunk. Moisture attacks from the inside seeping thru causing the bubble

Solution: Can be patched up from the outside but short term only and will re appear Permanent fix is to cut out the offending sections and re apply a panel piece, requireing extensive panel re spray & considerable cost

Bodywork is meant to be galvanised - which is probably the case but weld joints may not have been adequately addressed. Regarding warranty, probably country dependant but check your user manual. In my case only 3 years on body (many manufacturuers cover upto 10 yrs)

Regading the rear tail lamp problem, approach Maserati UK in the first instance and point out the problem - they should conbtribute by way of goodwill towards the repair. If you meet resistance, suggest go direct to Maserati S.P.A.

Thanks all, I will check with Dick Lovett but I suspect it'll sit with me to resolve. Short term fix will probably be sufficient as will be getting rid of the car in the next few months I think.

Cheers.

In the UK, the warranty for paint is the same as the mechanical warranty - 3 years.
