Hi,

Do you think Michael Schumacher could ever be world champion again???

Do you think its the car or is he just well past his best, though still competative ??

Regards

Definately not in his current car, I don't think he ever will as the gap in technological developments with Red Bull, Maclaren and Ferrari is to big so I doubt he'll get the opportunity to drive a really quick car again.

I think he'll always be a great driver, but with the likes of Vettel and the younger, up and coming crowd, I don't think he'll be top flight again.

I think its great he has the passion to continue and it seems he's working wonders for his current team, but not to the point he'll be a championship conender.  Id love to know his motivation for getting back into it.

Yes if he had the car he would win the title, Yes it is the car it is just not good enough to compete with Red bulls etc I think we all expected far to much when he returned, during the 3 years he was away the cars changed so much and it has taken time for him to get back up to speed. I also fear that you are correct Tony and Merc will not be able to give him a competitive car, I really hope they do as i would love to see him blast Vettel of the track,

Now then...

Schumacher had the car and the pace today at Monza, but I think Hamilton did very well not to lose his cool after being stuck behind him for so many laps.
Wish I could have been there, driving down to Italy in the Maserati could be a great idea one year.

Thoughts anyone?

Thoughts?  On what element?  Schuey...I think if I was Hamilton, I'd be pretty annoyed.  I don't know the latest, but if he hasnt been spoken to by the race officials, he should have been.  Yes, he's competitive, but also, IMO, TOO competitive.  Always has been.  You could argue thats what won him the world championships, but IMO he doesnt know how to be sporting.  Hell of a driver though.

On the seonds one....I'm please to say in precisely 7 days I will be in Italy in the GS.  I could wet myself I'm so excited! Been wanting to do it for as long as I can remember....this time next week, I'm hoping to be at the beginning of a week and a bit in Europe in the GS.

The race officials should be picking this one up, however there is so much politics in F1 I won't be surprised if he gets away with it as with Vettel running away with the title they need to keep the viewers watching. You've only got to remember the Prost v Senna issue with position of pole all those years ago. I agree schuey has won with stunts like this, however in the past and probably now he won't receive a heavy enough penalty again the politics of the sport. The Mercedes was definitely off the pace and he has robbed us of what could have been the best race so far if Hamilton was with the top three finishers. I'm also very impressed with Hamilton for coping with the frustration and keeping the car on track and lost a little more respect for Schumacher.

I think he will never be a world champion again for two reasons which you have already highlighted. The car, it's not on par with Ferrari, McLaren & Red Bull and two his age as his mind is willing but the body is finding it harder to keep up with the younger ones like Vettel. Talking about F1 what does you guys think about Button, I think he's a much driver than Lewis. Also do you guys ever meet up to watch the F1? reason for asking is that I have thought of watching it at Mercedes World and I thought it would be a good idea for some of us to meet up and enjoy the race and talk about our cars.

I'm in Kingston, Surrey so Mercedes world is relatively easy for me to get to so yes would watch the F1 there. Very nice place I've had a few Christmas parties there.

Hi neil i'm also up for it. Also back to the schumacher thing .....Jenson had no problem in overtaking him...Lewis was too cautious..There also should be an element of danger in F1 as there used to be...Schumacher provades that element and makes the sport more exciting.

I thought it was Hamilton's job to make F1 interesting. He seemed to demonstrate that ability last weekend in Singapore.

Now then, fast forward to 2012:

Without Schumacher destroying the gearbox of his Mercedes at Albert Park, I think he'd have ended close up to the podium first time out this season.

Thoughts...?

Yeah i think he was unlucky last weekend.

However i dont think he will be world champion again, Mclaren look very strong redbull weaker thasn last year but still strong enough, but for me though since he has been back i dont think he in himself is happy with his own driving, and even though has lots of experience and was a fantastically competive driver in his time, for me not has not proven himself as the stronger driver of the two yet.

in short car needs to improve and he needs to be happy and comfortable with his own driving style complemented by a car that suits his style for him to be competive, IMHO not there yet......
