Reset seat tilt memory
--------------------
Open the driver's side door and QUICKLY (must all be completed within 5 seconds) click the fore/aft adjuster forward-backward-forward-backward (just click - you don't need to move the seat much at all), then release the seat back and tilt it all the way forward. The seat will then go through a calibration cycle sliding all the way forward and back twice.

Seat memory set:-
------------------
Adjust the seat to the disired position.
Turn on ignition but do not start the engine.
Tilt the seat forward.
With the seat still tilted forward, adjust the seat base as far forward as it will go.
Tilt the seat back.
The seat will then return to the desired position.
This reteaches the maximum movement of the seat too the memory.
This generally occurs when on eof two things has happened. 1) the seat has been left in the tilt forward position for too long, or 2) the seat was in the tilt forward position when the ignition position was changed, either turned on or off.

Thanks to member barbuckle for the above info.

I wonder if anyone can help - the passenger seat on my 3200GT has suffered a loss of memory and I've tried the reset procedure as described but to no avail. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong as I'm trying to follow the procedure exactly as described. The seat moves fine but stubbornly will only return the same ( inconvenient ) position every time! Many thanks

Hi Robert,
Does your passenger seat have have memory positions? If it does, then just go through the memory position settings selection with the ignition turned on. If it does not, then try a few battery reset procedures one after another, about 3 plus and this might sort it. I stress that I am a 4200 owner so can only give experiences on these. I had a stuck drivers seat (back and forward) and tried the seat reset to no avail, and even my dealer said mechanical prob under warranty. However by accident, I had to do a reset due to an EOBD light, and did so but the fone went, and had to talk for 10 mins plus, so did a 30 sec reset again, and lo and behold the seat moved again. I did a seat reset of both back and forward, and normal and perfect. I suspect that a 30 sec reset only removes the last problem, not previous. Not certain. Aussie with various gearbox probs on another thread "GS v 4200" had all sorts of probs, and now by PM he has done 3 resets and a throttle reset and all is sorted. Worth a try, good luck.

thanks, trident.
the seat seems to have regained its memory. I'm not aware of doing anything to it other than swearing at it - so perhaps we have an understanding!

If the battery gets low, which also induces swearing, this can also cause memory problems, and alarm conditions, not the swearing!, on any model. Worth looking at getting a CTEK battery reconditioner £39-49 model XS 800, the same bit or gear supplied by Maserati but rebadged.

Good advice but Trident has had a senior moment! The product you want is made by CTEK not CITEK. Excellent bit of kit - I have 2 and as Stephen has said it is identical to the Maserati-badged product but less than half the price.
