I am part of the fundraising team at The Donna Louise Children's Hospice in Stoke-on-Trent. One of our supporters in Stafford is The Guildhall Shopping Centre and they arrange events in The Market Square in the town to raise awareness and funds for us. On August 1st there will be a car themed event which we want to base on quality sports cars with a view to geting around 30 cars assembled in the Square between 10am and 4pm. If anybody is interested in being involved and supporting the event please get in touch.

I would really like to get behind this meet and be able to put forward a good number and selection of Maserati in aid of this very worthy cause.

I have been doing a fair amount of research and the work that these guys undertake is still one of the only sources of support and care that the children and families have in Staffordshire and South Cheshire for those children between 0 and 19 years with terminal illness.

The Donna Lousie Trust looks to raise £2m every year through voluntary contributions to continue the valuable service.

The event on the 1st August 2010 is simple. The organisers are looking for a total of 20 to 30 interesting and exotic cars to attract the attention of the media and the public to raise awareness of the Trust and to raise some money on the day from those visiting the attraction.

The event will start at 10am and go through to 4pm so cars would need to be in place by 9:30am and not moved until 4pm. Participants could do as much or as little as they wish, just turning up with your sparkling Maserati is enough! But I would hope that we can engage the public in our passion for the Italian Marque and have fun ourselves.

I will scout out a lunch venue and organise a group lunch and also work on some activities to enliven the day; if anyone can help with putting these parts of the day together it would be much appreciated.

So, who's up for making this a great day out in the midlands - we don't get many oportunities around here to show off our cars! Please give this some careful thought and if you can help bring some Italian Exotica to Stafford on the 1st August, please, please add your name to the list on the next thread.

I just wanted to bring this to the front again and to say that the event is just a month away and the Trust really could do with some more suport with this event so please try.
I have a couple of recomendations for a lunch venue which I will try to find more about over the coming days, there will also be a "Start your Engines" at high noon and those who were are Bristol in April will know what that's like! Any suggestions for activities etc would be warmly received.

Thanks to the members who have already expressed an interest in joining in, I hope we can have a fun day and help this charity too.

Status: offline 		Lunch is booked for 1pm at Bella Italia. I have 8 confirmed for lunch but I have booked for 10 in case there are any last minute entries; however I'm sure they will accommodate more if you would like to join in!
