Two weeks ago I hit a pot hole and damaged the tyre. In Malta the tyre was not available so had to wait for it from Italy. At last it arrrived. After fixing the new tyre
on the screen I am getting the message calibrate tyres. I am pressing the calibration button. After a couple of seconds the message dissapeares but comes back with the following message

TPMS temporarly not activated.

Can anyone help

if memory serves right, press and hold the button it will then say something like "calibration initiated", it takes a good few minutes to calibrate the pressures, longer if you are driving.

I have the same problem with the Maserati QP gts, I press the calibration button and hold it in for 5 seconds and the warning light for TPMS goes on and asks me to go to the dealer. Could this mean one of the sensors in tires is broken?

Thanks in advance

Ralph

On my last car [607] when I had new tyres fitted they removed the sensors built into the valves as they were £110 each!

Hi Fenek,

I have just purchased a 55 reg Maserati Quattroporte Dueselect and is my first Masaerati and loving every minute driving it. I had the same message come up onto my dash all I done was hold the buttom for 4 - 10 seconds and drove the car around for 20 minutes after that the message went.

Looks like your enjoying your car!

I tried re-calibrating it, while standing still, yet after about 20 seconds the message popped up again. I then pressed the calibration button again and drove for about 20km, and the message popped up once again. Garage has told me to do the same, don't want to be paying another 110 quid for a new sensor!!! Any other ideas..???

Could be a dead sensor battery, in which case, a new sensor is needed. Could also be a TPMS system fault. But constant low tire pressure will also cause the system to say TPMS not available, so check pressures again manually.

Good luck.

Checked the tyre pressure and they are all perfectly fine.
Talked to the garage and they'll be buying new sensors to solve the problem at no cost!
No more annoying TPMS sound when starting up the car, can now enjoy the sound of the car! ;)

Thanks for the the help!
