Just fitted a 295 30 ZR20 PIRELLI P ZERO to the back wheel of my 4.2 Quattroporte GTS 2008 via a friend with a garage at a saving on the main dealer quoted price. They tell me that I have fitted a 'non-Maserati' fitment tyre because of the 'dot number'. They tell me that this size tyre fits Jaguar, Maserati, Ferrari and Porsche but they are all different. They did not say whether I should still be driving my car, so does anyone have an informed opinion on this please?

If the size, load rating and speed rating match the originals, I don't see where there would be an issue?

I just put P Zeros on mine and was offered a few with a lower load (87Y vs 91Y) but these were primarily for Porsches.  As long as the key numbers are right, I can't beleive that there's a major difference.  How many people look THAT closely when buying tyres?

Many thanks for your sensible reply and I like your car.  I remember seeing you in Toy Story!
