I have got a very small leak of oil in the front left side of my Maserati 4200.
Do you think it is worth trying this product? WYNN ENGINE STOP LEAK
http://www.wynns.uk.com/Product.aspx?p=50664&g=GRP_CONS_OIL

Could this damage the engine?

Please don't do it! Sort out the cause don't mask the problem as difficult ad it maybe. You could gunge up oil lines and breather pipes and cause way more damage.

If it is the cam shaft cover that is weeping this is a common problem and should be monitored, a little oil loss is OK there, it may spoil the car a little aspheticaly but no a huge issue.

That's right, Morris Marinas hold their value a lot better...

Thanks for the advice. It was just a crazy idea!

I definitely have a small leak. I can see some oil on the floor under the front left side of the engine and this never happened before, pehaps a revenge from my Maserati for not beeing used for over a month!

Though I cannot identify from where exacly it is coming from but I had not a chance yet to check from the bottom of the car.

I have noticed that I have a trace of oil in the front of the air intake, where the rubber  pipe is attached to the gold metal cast that covers the engine.
It this a normal place for a leak or it is just a littel overflow?

Thanks,

F

There is a known weekend in the Oil pick up hose, this is on the drivers side next to the tank...but it sounds like it the other side you have the leak.

I would suggest removing the front wheel and the arch liner which should give you a better view of the area.

I had time to investigate...it's starting from the top left corner of the cam shaft cover. So should not be serious. I will try to check the bolts and tighten them carefully but I suppose I have no choice and change the gasket at next oil change in a few months.
