Hi,

I spotted this yesterday at Goodwood and took some pics. What car is it? The condition can only be described as concours but the guy was giving it stick nonetheless.

Thanks.

Somthing like a Maserati A6GCS I'd presume?

Wow! isn't it great to know that not only are there people who can spend serious money on cars like this but willing to drive them as they should be! clearly a recent full and thorough rebuild

My guess from your great photos are a tipo 200s from 1955 to 1957, only 28 made apparently!

second guess would be a tipo 450s from '56 to '58...rarer still only 11 made.

Any pics from more conventional angles may be easier to identify

Yes, let's see more pics if you have them - side or 3/4 view would help.
I agree with Malcolm - something in the 150S, 200S, 300S, 350S, 450S area, judging by the way the wings swoop up over the wheels. But the vented bonnet has me puzzled.

I'll go away and do some serious studying in me library .... .... !!!!!

Agree with you there on the bonnet Roger, it's the unusual bonnet vents that make it particularly difficult to ID. Problem is that the cars were individually built and that some individuality would occur in build, but 50 years later all sort of "mods" will have occurred.

Looks great though!

Just totally smitten now with this design  ive got quite a few more pix of models through that era  , more i think  about it , if my kids were younger i'd sellem  and a kidney   oh and one of the missus kidneys  if it meant i could have an original, but alas  in reality im gonna go for what i can afford  but lavish my labour and talents at getting body  and chassis as true to form as i can  with modern brakes/suspension

Have found a few of bits around of that era are still about and forsale   in small lots  clocks and dials switches but there mega money   need some better contacts

great video rob

regards loz
