Well, the sun has started to peek through the clouds and i can feel the vibe for summer approaching.

I have been looking at Maserati 3200's for 6mths now and expanded my horizons to Grey/Black as i feel the car looks great in these colours.

Should i be wary of cars that have been on Autotrader/Pistonheads for a while as i have seen one i think looks great

http://www.newbarncarsprestbury.co.uk/GetDealer.do?did=14758&pageid=1

but appears to not have sold. I have also contacted other dealers to see if they offer a reasonable to 0% over 1/2yrs finance package, i earn good money but sadly my savings ability will fall short of the summer leaving me unable to pose the Maserati badge in the peak summer months, which in a rather insecure or inspired way (deending on mood) is my goal.

Are there any reputable dealers or flexible traders out there, it looks as though i will be going to Trident for my servicing, i am also pleased to say i will be keeping the car standard for the first year or so to get the feel as so many gentlemen on here have advised.

I look forward to your feedback, options.

Tom

car is a nice colour combo.steering wheel leather needs gluing as usual.as everyone says get it inspected.i personally wouldn't get too hung up just 'cause it's been hanging 'round for a bit.nor would i get too fixated on 0%.money costs money and if anybody is giving you 0% they are making it elsewhere.i assume you know this anyway.just get the best package you can on the table in front of you and make the right decision

you know you want to!

Just to change the subject for a moment that dealer has a Venturi Atlantic 3000...my god have't seen one of those for sale for years, mind you they didn't sell many is this country..loved them when they came out and at 19k not a bad price....anyway enjoy your search for a 3200, but remember that 3200's can stay on a dealers forcourt for months/year This doesn't mean there is something wrong with it as they are difficult to sell...do your research take your time and you will not regreat it.

I see, well getting a car inspected by a main Maserati dealer i would imagine to be expensive, but a responsible thing to do considiering the reliability of these cars.

I am well aware that there is no such thing as 0%APR without catches or smallprint, I will likely just keep saving and like many say and have before, get the right one at the right time, or just hold back. It would appear rushing into buying one of these can potentialy be a very costly mistake.

you could take a loan & then balance transfer it onto a 0% card but these days at the least you'd be paying a transfer fee of a couple of %.. so you'd probs be looking at 4-5% apr even on that.. unless you wanna buy a new Quattroporte - in which case, give stratstone a call - they seem to always be running that deal lol

Tom, one thing you need etched inside your eyelids when looking at 3200's of this value - they need the cam CHAINs changing at 69k miles, which is a £2500 job.  I see this one says it's belt was changed, that's not enough, ask about the chains too, yes it has both.

Love the Venturi!

Thanks for the advice guys, i had a good chat with a gentleman "Myles" at Emblem who gave me some good pointers and advice. I can almost certainly say that i will be using them for my maintenance.

I have also become obcessed with getting the Assetto Corsa version, the different wheels just seem to set it off in my opinion. Has anyone owned a 3200GT and an Asetto Corsa 3200GT and discovered a noticeable difference to drive.

My problem is the Assetto Corsa 3200's seem to come with black leather and i want one with the cream leather? Swap anyone?

2.5k for chains is a valid point and is a big expense but its not a big deal in relation to the peace of mind having it all renewed.

I cant make my mind up what colour i like either, in Cornwall there are not many guys with Maseratis so when i get to look around it will make life much easier to decide. I originaly wanted to spend 16-18 but i can see me breaking over 20k for a looked after decent one now.

I'll keep my eyes peeled, gorgeous Assetto corsa in Black on AT for 20.5k but high miles, then 22.5k for a silver one with 40k ish.

Are the Assetto Corsas worth the extra 5k? Sorry for the ?'s, when i get the car and we all have a meet ill buy you all beers promise! Im just tempted to snap up a low milage FSH Black 3200GT with cream interior and fit the Assetto wheels but then the lowered Assetto corsa looks more sporty.

Hmmmmmmmmm, i dont realy know where im going with this, i am sure many of you have also pondered the same.

All I would say is buy on condition, a dog of an A/C will be a worse experience than a peachy 3200GT!!

Also bear in mind the price for chains is the starting point - if the clutch is even 2/3rds worn you may as well pull the engine and have the chains done and a clutch.

I'm faced with this service before the summer, woo hoo!
